Summary: I don't know where to begin. This printer hates envelopes. or maybe I should say that it hates some envelopes some days, but not others. It will not print from some applications, some days. I tried everything in it's tool box. Finally, (gasp!) I had to call (off shore) tech support. They asked If it had ink. (!!!) they asked if it had paper (!!!) They asked if I was loading the paper correctly. Need I say more?
Summary: At this price point I really didn't expect much. I was not disappointed. While the printer is easy to set up and does the job, it has too many faults. There is not a receptacle for the printed sheets. If one does not keep their hand in front of the printer while printing, the printed sheet will fly across the room. The paper feed will work properly about half the time. The other half requires pulling the paper supply out and reinserting it for proper feeding.
Summary: This printer arrived without its USB cable. Bad enough, but just a mistake, I thought, but astoundingly, in the manual, it actually says: If this printer does not come with a USB cable, you should order one. I'm still astounded. Others have had the same happen to them. Unbelievable.
Summary: I purchased this HP printer because of the brand name and value. However, after a little over one month after the purchase date, the machine got a permanent paper jam when I turned it on one evening. After numerous e-mails and phone calls to Technical Support in India I still didn't have my printer replaced under warranty.
Summary: ON the first print attempt I got the error message "The cartridge cradle cannot move. Check for paper jam." Carriage moves freely by hand. Tried everything, uninstalled/reinstalled software, HP support site, etc. When you look at the cheap price don't forget to factor in a couple hours you'll spend cursing and trying to fix the thing.
Summary: I bought the printer on the strength of a NY Times glowing price to value review, obviously, the reviewer had never used it. The paper feed and the paper exit overlap and the pages are spewed onto the floor as in an old man vs. machine Laurel & Hardy movie. The second problem was, when trying to determine if I was using it properly or if a part(tray) was missing I had to deal w/ HP's on line service rep.
Summary: Agree with the reviewer. This printer is not worthy of the HP brand no matter what the price.
Cons: Tries to make up for poor hardware with a convoluted/bloated software install package. Hops all over the desk in response to print carriage activity. Color photos are not worth the paper they're printed on. Buy something else, anything else.
