Summary: I have had this printer for 4 years. I repaired it once by myself. It has serious software issues which are OK considering my limited printing personal use. However I am very indignant about something that I qualify as fraud by HP. The printer suddenly stopped working and did not respond anymore.
Summary: I bought this printer in 2008 (four years ago) because my boss owned one and it had always been reliable and easy to use. She used hers for printing hundreds of multi-page, full-color newsletters and brochures.
Low quality ink, won't feed paper and shakes too much

Summary: I hate this printer. Strike one: Horrible paper handling. Bought it for printing 12x12" scrapbook pages along with ordinary correspondence. But not all scrapbook papers are precisely the same size. So if the paper is 11-15/16" instead of 12" it is stupidly rejected.
Summary: I had purchased one earlier which lasted about a year but crashed and computer would not recognize it. This one was advertised as nearly new (used only couple of times) but when it arrived had marks on sides and looked more than slightly used. My computer would not recognize it.
Summary: I wanted a wide format printer for scrapbooking. the first one I was able to afford through ebay I think was this HP designjet beautiful printer I was never able to set it up as it was incompatable with EVERYTHING. I run windows xp, dont waste your money it was the biggest night mare Ive ever had.
Summary: Although I'm fairly happy with the print quality just because I use this printer mostly as draft printing, the paper feed sucks big time! For a print job that requires multiple page I basically have to tell the computer to print 1 sheet at a time because it always pulls in several sheets each time.
Summary: I do not know why people are complaining on the reviews about this printer. I've had alot of great times with it, and yes you have to learn how to play with settings, but you also have to know what you are doing in dealing with the printer quality and the way your printer and computer interact.
Summary: I bought the HP Deskjet 9800 about two years ago when it was difficult to find any wide format printers within this price range. I had seen so many problems with my Epsen wide format printer that I thought surely HP would be easier to maintain and use. Well, the nightmare continued.
Summary: If I had it to do over, I would probably look at purchasing another brand.
Pros: Large print size, printing with 6 colors via 2 color cartridges is nice. Price was excellent. Color printing with the HP Viviera inks is sharp and the colors are great.
Cons: Printed about 20 pages successfully, then the printer would not recognize the print cartridges. Was able to get it exchanged since I was still in the 30 day exchange period. If you buy this, print like crazy (make sure to try different ink cartridges too) to make sure it's going to work past the ...
