Excerpt: We have owned this printer for four years now. It still works well, although it has reached the point where it messes up often enough to complain about it. It is reasonably fast, and if you choose the draft setting, does not waste a lot of ink. The ink is easy to buy, though expensive. There is a regular paper feeder on it, as well as a slot where you can feed in envelopes. You can also adjust the paper feed tray to smaller sizes, which I have found very useful.
Summary: This printer was passed down to me from a previous owner. I was immediately impressed that I didn't need to buy any additional software for my Mac (apple) laptop to print from it, I just plug in the USB cord from the printer, directly into my Mac, and it worked! Even through all my OS upgrades, it still always identifies the printer and prints.
Summary: A real work horse! My 930 finally gave up with many years of service. This model is almost the same with a little more speed. Don't need all those other fancy features with other printers. Just something to get the job done. I print some letters and reports. Color is good with maps.
Summary: I already had one of these older HP deskjet models and at work, we still use an older DOS database that requires the functions of the older printers. Can't really explain exactly why this is but newer printers do not work with older DOS programs. I have one that I've printed hard on for years and I'm sure it's preparing to see it's end so I wanted to get a stand by printer to be ready for replacement when it occurs.
Summary: I knew it was used when I ordered it, so I suspected some problems. It took some help to get it going, but it is working fine at this time. The problem was a dried up color cartridge (even though I started with a new one). It would have helped to have an indication as to what to look for; however, I am pleased with it so far.
It's a very no frills printer. Doesn't print stuff ...

Summary: It's a very no frills printer. Doesn't print stuff too quickly, no scanner/copier/WiFi/etc. But I've had this thing for at least a decade and it's still trucking along. Buy it as a backup if anything.
Summary: I run Lotus databases for the office and am a major believer in this software (I also am very familiar with it). To keep running this software and not have to spend $300 to $400 for a newer version, I need a parallel printer and those are not easy to come by. I have been using my current HP Deskjet 940C for the last 12 years and got it used from the boss's residence.
Summary: My old 940c has been in use for years now and finally gave up the ghost. Not only is this one just what I wanted(too many of the newer printers just do not do the job that I am looking for). The seller description was right on and I received it a day earlier than told I would.
Summary: Printer was exactly as I expected, practically new condition and worked perfectly. It was shipped quickly and I am very satisfied. In fact, I just ordered another from Solar. I think it was the last refurbished one they had. Sorry.
