Summary: Great set up. We have two laptops and both connected wirelessly by going to 'add printer', choosing the printer and going through the setup. Took two minutes for each. It actually is a better printer than I thought it would be. Not a fast printer, but OK. Also has the smaller cartridges so it doesn't cost as much if you have to replace cartridges if they dry out because or infrequent use.
Summary: This is one of the best ink jet printers I have ever owned. It replaced a 5 year old HP that I loved, and simply was warn out. This unit had all the features I was looking for- wireless, duplexing, and extra paper storage. I have had it one year with no problems. The wireless was pretty easy to set up (had to use a wired connection first), and it supports WEP and WPA. The print quality is very good. I don't print a lot of photos, but when I do, they look great.
Summary: I have had, and have fought with, this printer for over 12 months now (system: Dell PC, XP, then Vista Ultimate). I have never been able to get the 6980 lemon to work correctly on either my wireless or ethernet connection. Usually my PC says the printer is "offline." When I finally get it "online" it usually doesnt print, and if it does print, generally stops midway through job for no reason. Also frequent jamming.
Summary: Printer works great, but write-up made it sound as though it has internal wi-fi, but it doesn't still neeed to hook router up to it to make it wireless. Kind of defeated my purpose having to purchase another peice of equipment to set it up the way I wanted to.
Summary: I have used this printer for about 2 months now. It is really easy to setup and get running either direct connect or via wireless. It is very fast when printing single sided. It is quite a bit slower with double-sided printing mostly because it waits for the 1st side to dry before printing the 2nd side. But it is not too bad if you need 2-sided printing.
Summary: This is a good printer. It is a WORKHORSE. The only issue I have with it is the platform for the paper when it exits does not allow for either a large build up of letter size paper or for more than one legal page to sit until you can get to it. I print a lot of legal sized documents.
Summary: I do not use this printer to print Photos. I use it as standard printer. This printer is a good value for the price. It is a little sensitive to amount of paper in the print trays. The 250-sheet tray is temperamental but very nice to have. I assume that the problem with the 250-sheet tray will be corrected by experience. The duplex feature is a cost saving feature and works well.
Comments about the HP 6980 and 6980 DT color printer

Summary: HP 6980 and the 6980DT are good printers if you are not running VISTA on your computer. HP has not updated their drivers to accommodate duplexing with VISTA. Quite annoying. I paid for a feature that I can not use until HP gets around to update their drivers, not a good way to treat customers. I also agree with the comment about quality. Too much cheap plastic that does not hold up.
