Summary: This was a terrible printer. It never worked properly once, it always a paper jam and the ink carriage was not working correctly. I would never recommend this printer. Only good thing i got out of paying for a bad printer was when I got a full refund back for it.
Summary: The seller tried to ship it as media mail. When it arrived at my house, I had to pay additional shipping and there was a sticker placed on it by USPS that they had inspected the package contents. They placed an instruction sheet explaining what qualifies for Media Mail. (The mail carrier that delivers to my house told me that a lot of people are trying to ship items that do NOT qualify as Media Mail.) The printer did NOT work when I simply plugged in the power cord.
Summary: Printer arrived in good condition, and was like new. The box had never even been opened. I have an OLD computer running Windows Works (which I love), and it won't drive new printers on today's market. Many thanks, to whomever saved this Deskjet 3820 --- for me.
Summary: I needed a replacement for my old printer, as I am still working with my Windows 95 computer. The HP3820 that I purchased from Amazon.com exactly replaces the HP 3820 that stopped working after 12 years. I had a lot of extra ink for this model so I was glad that I didn't have to discard all that ink. The replacement HP 3820 works very well and I am used to it. Thanks Amazon.com!
Summary: HP Deskjet 3820 Printer The HP3820 inkjet printer is designed for the average user at home or office. It comes in a two_tone beige and grayish_blue case like other HP printers. It connects to a computer with either an IEEE 1284 parallel cable (Windows 95) or a USB cable (Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP). The inkjet cartridges are: #15 for black, #78 for tricolor. The U_shaped paper path is the same as in other HP printers.
Summary: I got this new 8 years ago. It served me as a student teacher and then a teacher. It only encountered problems when I tried to use recycled cartridges and then ultimately I had given up on anything half decent coming out of it when I bought a new pc that was not on Windows 2000. The new driver for Windows 7 was rubbish.

Summary: My HP Deskjet 3820 died. I had several ink cartridges for it. All of the printers presently for sale use different cartridges. So to avoid having to throw out several hundred dollars worth of cartridges, I decided to try to locate another HP 3820. This used 3820 works just fine and is printing a manual for me as I type this review.
Summary: THIS IS A VERY OLD PRINTER. WE NEEDED THIS MODEL FOR ONE OF OUR MACHINES THAT IS PROGRAMMED FOR THIS PRINTER. WE WERE PLEASED TO HAVE FOUND A NEW PRINTER THAT WAS THIS OLD. WE HOOKED IT UP AND IT WORKED. THE INK THAT CAME WITH THE PRINTER WAS TOO OLD AND WE REPLACED THOSE WITH BRAND NEW INK AND NOW THE COLORS PRINT WELL.
