Summary: Solar Data did an outstanding job on this machine from beginning to end. The packaging was first notch, a manual was included along with software, all the cabling needed. They even did sample photos and prints and packaged them as well. There was even a personal note on the receipt and an offer to recycle my old printer with free shipping. I'm a person who like to see the extra effort and Solar Data certainly did 110% on this printer and delivery.
Summary: Purchased this item on 11/8/2013, estimated delivery 11/18 - 12/4, arrived 11/15 +/- 6:30 P.M. Had one at my place of employment 15 years ago and loved it, always wanted one of my own. Found this one on Amazon and ordered it. This seller is great, Solar Data. It was like I had purchased a new one, everything was included, even ink cartridges. And they offered me a way to re-cycle the other 1220. I do contract drafting and use this printer quite a lot.
Summary: In memory of my beloved HP1220C printer, which, through no fault of its own, has found itself "incompatible" with my snooty Mac Book Pro OSX 10.6.8. Don't ask me the source of the rift. They were happy, carefree, compatible for a year or so, then suddenly divorced with no explanation. It's not the printer's fault, test pages run fine. It tries, it really does. But even with a gutenprint patch, the Macbook won't even speak to it.
Summary: Warning: No custom size available for any OS after Windows XP. I had to install XP in a virtual machine, then install the Printer's driver within. Once set up properly, I have been using this printer vigorously on custom sizes from 11X10 -> 11X50 and it has been very reliable, print after print. The quality is not the best due to low dpi capabilities but hey this is an old printer and I love it!
Summary: I bought my HP1220c in February of 2000, and it worked like a dream for 10 years. A couple months ago, it started leaking ink and I had to reluctantly send it to the recycle center. I used it for printing color product brochures and for everyday forms and letters. I used presentation paper for my brochures and the "best" setting for my output, but it also prints nicely on glossy brochure paper and photo paper.
Summary: i been used this kind printer for the past 5 years i like this printer because 2400 x 1200 dpi i dislike this printer because it's too slow but i like the cartridges they can be refill again & again & again 5 to 6 time big saving for me because i used 2 set cartridges evey day i have 4 hp 1220c printers don
Summary: I have worked my way through a good number of printers, the flashy ones, the all lights and whistle ones and the crammed with un-needed gimmics ones. This printer, the HP 1220c, is plain and simple but, it has produced far better results than any other printer I have ever used. I am always surprised when, I assume the ink will run out, but it just goes on and on.
Summary: This is a great printer, covers all my needs. Only thing that let it down was no setup disk. Downloaded the drivers ok, but could not get the Tool Box or Extras to work on XP with service pack 3. And HP no longer surports this printer.
