Very good little printer - Except hot!
Excerpt: I am very pleased with this printer, love that it can print on two sides. Maybe that's not such a "new" feature but coming from a maybe 10 year old printer I am impressed by it. It's also very compact comparatively as well. Doesn't get 5 stars because it runs VERY HOT. Not good for printing envelopes!! If this is something you do a lot look for a different printer! On my old printer I could wait for 5 or so envelopes to be printed before pulling them apart.
Summary: I researched a bunch to discover a printer for not only basic needs but one that could print on my 7 x 10 note card stock quickly and without misfeeds. Even on heavy stock the printer was excellent, it paused once in a while to cool down but printed one after another quickly. I am impressed! It runs quiet too. Wish I had invested in this a long time ago. The Smart Install didn't take but got it installed first try with the disc provided.
Excerpt: Was easy to set up, haven't figured out e-printing yet. Many times it prints a blank page and the 2nd time I hit the print button it prints fine, still researching the problem, it is a little frustrating. I have color corrected the monitor and have matched printer which makes the color prints of photographs on glossy paper much better, not perfect, but I am fairly pleased with it. I am happy with the speed too.
Summary: I'm not giving this 5 stars because I do not know how long it will last. I had an HP printer before and it's life wasn't as long as I would have expected it to be. However, 1.5 years later, and this printer is still operating strong. Hopefully, HP will update drivers for this model as new operating systems are developed. HP has been reluctant doing that in the past, which is why I couldn't use two pervious HP printers as long as I wanted too.
Excerpt: We have been very pleased with this product's [HP® Color LaserJet M451dn Printer by HP] preformance, we'll have to see how it holdsup in the long haul as we've the printer [an old HP 4600] we replaced it with an old HP 4600 served us well for 15-20 years so we choose to go back with a newer model. It prints very good pictures on plain paper. We print from 70-140 check each month and todate ,knockon wood it has not skipped a single check.
Excerpt: I have been using HP laser printers for over 15 years. On my last buy, I switched to a Lexmark printer and it was a pretty bad experience - the Lexmark burned through toner way faster than a HP printer had done for me. I wanted this printer because of the automatic duplex option, along with having color options, and it hasn't disappointed yet.
Summary: This was my second purchase of this printer. My first was may a year earlier and is functioning well right beside this new printer. My needs suggested a second, color printer with duplexing, and I had no qualms about getting a second of these HP451dn's. I've liked my experience with the first during the prior year. It seems to be conservative with toner use, tho there are 4 toner cartridges to maintain.
Excerpt: Prints both sides with color. Only concern is the cost of the cartridges. We will see how long they last. Cost of the printer is reasonable. Last one I had that had similar features cost over $900. Those cartridges cost $400 to replace all four. Hopefully this one will be better. Printer works quickly and was very easy to set up.
