Summary: My only complaint would be that the replacement toner is so expensive. I use the B/W option to save on toner when I don't need color prints. The cartridges do last a long time, however. I bought this machine in Jan of 2009, and have had zero problems. I don't think it is very loud.
Summary: Bought this out of my school classrooom budget. Began throwing all kinds of error messages right out of the box. HP dragged their feet long enough that it went out of warranty...Now I turn it on just for the sole purpose of watching all the front panel lights flash! That's about all its good for.
