Summary: My only complaint would be that the replacement toner is so expensive. I use the B/W option to save on toner when I don't need color prints. The cartridges do last a long time, however. I bought this machine in Jan of 2009, and have had zero problems. I don't think it is very loud. I guess in a quiet office environment it may be, but it would not be a reason not to buy this machine. I am surprised by how much the price went up! I got mine for $700.
Summary: Bought this out of my school classrooom budget. Began throwing all kinds of error messages right out of the box. HP dragged their feet long enough that it went out of warranty...Now I turn it on just for the sole purpose of watching all the front panel lights flash! That's about all its good for. Didn't even get to find out how expensive replacement toner is because it won't print and never uses any! Sadly, my district requires us to use HP...
Summary: I have been a big fan of HP printers from the get go. They have a reputation of building high quality, easily maintainable, and low total cost of ownership laser printers. I have serviced HP, Lexmark printers for over 15 years as well as a few Xerox, Brother and Canon printers as well. The HP brand printers have been my favorite to use and support. However, the cost per page for this printer is extremely high.
Summary: I bought this printer one year ago for roughly 700 Euro. Within two months the paper started to come out crumpled. I phoned the company where I bought it. Unable to fix it. Gave the case over to HP. Since then nothing but the runaround, the printer will not print more than two pages without it crumpling and ruining the paper. HP will not replace the printer, "we can't replace this model we're the sales department".
Summary: This is a very good printer. Have been using it as a shared printer for at least a yr. or more and it has great color quality, prints fast and haven't had any problems with it. However, be aware that although the printer compares in price with other quality printers, the color cartridges are VERY EXPENSIVE.
Summary: Small business looking for a color printer without spending too much. Printer is very heavy and sturdy. The quality of the print is very clear and bright. Great printer for money spent. Would highly recommend.
Summary: My client asked for a low cost color printer to make menus for her restaurant and meal prep business. It needed to be compatible with her Mac, capable of double sided printing, and make great looking prints. This printer met all her requirements. She was very pleased with it. And with her Mac, there was no setup or configuration required. We simply connected the USB cable and shazaam! it started working. This particular unit was refurbished, so we saved some $$$.
Cons: Not alot of control over the color setting, example if the photo is too dark there really isn't an easy way to lighten up through drivers or printer settings. Not the best for color photos if business applications dont have ability to modify setting, onl
