Don't buy this printer

James A. Herndon "Jim Herndon", Amazon
4 May 2009
  • Summary: This printer cost a small fortune to operate!!!!!!!!!! The cartridges cost over $500 per set and we have been using 2 to 4 sets per year even though the printer is just lightly used. That is $1000 to $2000 year. We have has several connective problems as well that required HP technical support.

3520 injet printer

edisondude, Ebay
4 March 2009
  • Summary: It is simple and works well, the one weakness I have found is they use a plastic gear affixed to a metal shaft that will spin on the shaft and destroy the serrated connection, I was able to fix the problem by glueing the gear to the shaft, I have now purchased a back up and will glue the gear prior to use, otherwise it has served its purpose well.

good printer overall, color could be better

megasalemerchandise, Ebay
28 August 2008
  • Summary: good printer for massive jobs. Print color quality not the best, 1200 dpi would be nicer. I like it so far but it is used and so far what i have printed in three days is very nice. no jams. easy menu navigation.

HP 3550 Inkjet Printer - 3500 Series Printers

beameup62, Ebay
5 July 2007
  • Summary: I own one of these in the Philippines and it works well for the casual user. The drawback of most printers is that although the initial price may be low, the refills get expensive. So if you only occasionally need to print something, this might be a very good choice. However, you can have the ink cartridges refilled or even refill them yourself.

piece of junk

K. Sullivan, Amazon
11 May 2007
  • Summary: Our office prints a small amount (50 pages/day/machine) but this printer lasted only two months before it started to produce spots in all colors all over the pages. We called HP and they said it was a firmware issue. Yeah, right. Stay away from this one. This is our 4th HP printer in <3 years (2 color lasers, 2 multifunction) all of which wound up in the trash. I am long longer an HP because they don't last even with light usage.

Great Home Office Printer

dakingsales, Ebay
15 July 2006
  • Summary: I think that this is a great printer for the Home Office, and maybe the Small Office user. It prints nice, crisp color and black/white prints, and is very fast once it warms up. I think that I was getting about 15-20 pages a minute. However, this is not a photo printer, so if your looking to make quality photo prints, this is not the printer for you.

Do NOT buy

Dennis Chandler-Holtz, Amazon
13 February 2006
  • Summary: Well, maybe buy if all you are doing is printing from Office. This printer uses a host based driver that doesn't work well with non-Office products. I am trying to print from a financial program and it won't work. I contacted HP and was told politely "too bad". With host based drives, if it doesn't work, you're just stuck. If you need it to be HP make sure it doesn't have a host based driver.
