A lot of color LASER printer for the money!

the-diamondgrader, Ebay
2 December 2011
  • Summary: I bought this printer to print Jewelry Appraisals and it is just fine for that job. Replacement toner cartridges are quite reasonable in price on eBay for it. The only downside to this printer is SIZE. It is huge and I need to find a printer stand with wheels for it.

GREAT home/small business printer

IronMan Mike Curtis "-Mike", Amazon
17 May 2010
  • Summary: I've owned the 3500n for several years. The print quality is excellent. The speed? The pages come flying out like Jane Fonda in 9 to 5. It starts printing quickly. If you're used to ink jet printers, you will be impressed! It's solidly built. I bought mine when they first hit the market.

Subject to severe paper jams

Paul Scarborough, Amazon
18 July 2006
  • Summary: The 3500/3700 family has a good overall design using a vertical cartridge arrangement instead of the older rotating cartridge unit of the older 4500 family. THis should be a good printer like the excellent 4600 but unlike the 4600 the registration system in this machine is made of thin plastic parts...

Badly underpowered host based system.....

Joseph Burnstein "Analyst", Amazon
31 December 2005
  • Summary: Badly underpowered host based system..... This printer just looks mighty from the outside. The reality is that it has a host based architecture meaning that it relies on your PC for almost all image processing needs.

The best color laser printer under $1000 for Mac or Windows users

tropic_of_criticism, Amazon
10 July 2005
  • Summary: I have a network of four permanent computers, and several itinerant ones. These computers have included every iteration of Windows from 98 to XP Pro SP2, as well as OS X.3 and X.4. This printer performs flawlessly with all of them, and has only been made more accessible through Apple's handy Bonjour...

Airport Extreme users, take note

tropic_of_criticism, Amazon
10 July 2005
  • Summary: If you're a Mac (or cross-platform) user, and have an Airport Extreme, it is unnecessary for you to spend the extra money on this model. Save your money and buy the plain 3500 instead. The essential difference between the 3500 and the 3500N is the included print server.

Very satisified

Victoria Tarrani "writer, editor, artist, designer", Amazon
27 June 2004
  • Summary: Installation and configuration of this printer was easy and took less than 45 minutes from the time I started unpacking until I was printing. I have extensive networking experience, yet I doubt a novice home user will have problems following the clear directions if this printer is installed as a...

Colourful Printer

orrin31, Ciao
10 August 2007
  • Excerpt: I bought this nearly three years ago to help me with my IT business that I had at the time. I needed a good quality printer that could be left printing dozens of pages without too much hassle. An inkjet was out of the question so a laser was the only solution open to me.
  • Pros: Quality results in colour, support (when you get hold of them)
  • Cons: Loud when in use, a bit bulky
