HP Color Laserjet 2600n Printer

Gopher 1, Amazon
20 May 2012
  • Summary: We currently have this printer, but it was at the end of its life. We decided to buy this on Amazon after reading many ads. We decided on this vendor and everything was perfect. It arrived as expected and in mint condition. It was better than I expected considering it was used.

  • Summary: Every inkjet I owned would clog or dryup within a month if not used. I have never had any issued with this printer.
  • Pros: I have had this printer for almost 2 years and have just now replaced the toner. It prints nice glosey photos on plain paper. Built in NIC for network printing.
  • Cons: It is big.

  • Pros: First printer my client actually liked. Sometimes you can get a great deal on it. Network printer means it needn't be tethered to a computer... works with Macs (unlike the 1600).
  • Cons: The cost of toner is about 75$ a toner.... so for four toners (not that they all go out at once) we're talking 300$ ... my client is on her second 2600N because she got a better deal on getting a brand-new printer with 4 toners included than she would have on the toner alone.

Very good low price laser. Experienced some problems

Michael A., Newegg
5 June 2008
  • Summary: I'm very happy with this product. If you're looking to upgrade from an inkjet this is a very affordable option. Despite problems I've had I would probably purchase this again if I needed another laser printer.
  • Pros: Print quality is extremely good for it's price. Install over network was painless.
  • Cons: Experienced two key problems while using this printer. First, it wouldn't print from certain programs. They would appear in the print queue and then disappear. Very frustrating. I found that unplugging the printer for a few minutes solved this problem but I had to do that a few times. Hasn't been...
