Summary: First, the print cartridges for this printer are unbelievably expensive. Second, I have only printed documents in black, yet my printer refused to print anything because the ink was too low. Yet when I checked the print levels I still had black ink showing, but the colors were gone. I thought having the spearate (expensive) cartridges would at least let you use all of your black ink even if the colors were too low. What a rip-off.
Very good printer, but if you print envelopes with any regularity, probably not the best choice.

Summary: I opted to buy this printer after my Canon got a printer head clog that was impossible to unclog (and the price of a new printer head for it was only a small amount shy of a new printer -- big waste, and probably the main reason I opted to go to another brand than Canon). I looked over printers for a LONG time before making my decision because I wanted something I would be happy with. Setup went ok -- certainly not without a couple of bumps in the road.

Summary: The Expression is one of Epson's small footprint all-in-one printers. With the exception of a 2.5" touchscreen and missing a fax modem (who uses a fax anymore?) this is identical to the $200 big brother XP-800 with a 3" screen and a fax modem. With regard to Epson's professional all-in-one printer line, "The Workforce" series, the Expression line is for the budget-minded shopper.

Summary: After satisfactory installation, the printer would not print in black. I performed all the maintenance I could and contacted EPSON who diagnosed a problem with the print head and recommended I organise a replacement printer with the supplier. I installed the replacement printer and experienced the same problem.

Summary: My wife and I bought this printer because it has a small "foot print" and it has a scanner all in one box. The build quality is only reasonable and the drawers to load paper are flimsy. When printing you must remember to pull out the top drawer to receive the output - not so good if you are trying to print remotely and you have forgotten. The user manual is almost useless in both the printed and on-line versions and I cannot see why they bothered.
