Summary: Good printer, happy with it. Disappointed that Epson does not provide USB cable with printers, quite a delay if living in a remote area. Epson should state cable is not supplied so it could be ordered at the same time as printer when buying directly from Epson on line
Summary: So I ordered a Workforce 30 inkjet and when it was mailed to me I got sooo excited to use it. I plugged it in and did the installation according to the directions. But I had two lights flashing, the ink light and the trash light. I looked in the guide to figure out what it meant, come to find out it meant a part needed to be replaced. A brand new printer already needing a part replaced, what is that!?
Summary: at first i was not getting it connected and wondered was it damaged goods. I then tried a new USB port cord and it worked fine - but software didn't connect it - if it had something that told me it may be a bad cord it would have been cool.
Summary: This is the second Epson printer I've owned. There were several years between the first one and this one. Remarkably, this one has the same problem that the first one had. Epson seems not to like HP computers. I had to periodically reinstall the first Epson I had. I had this one hooked up for less than a week and only used it once when I had to reinstall it. Despite that very annoying problem, it's ok on everything else. The speed of printing is very impressive.
Summary: I bought this printer to replace a Canon IP3000 that I used for general color printing at work. The setup was very easy with my XP Dell and the printer does work OK. But 2 things would stop me from recommending this printer. It is very noisy, in my work environmental it is not noticeable but in a home or small office everyone will know when you are printing.
Summary: Just installed this printer. The only problem now is that it will not support punched paper. Spent the whole afternoon installing, uninstalling, reinstalling S/W etc. and then finally restoring my computer to an earlier date with no results. Was sending an email to Tech Support and the first response was a possible solution entitled "Hole-punched Paper" among 5 possible solutions. Sure enough I had been using three hole punched paper.
Decent no-frills printer for the price--Don't forget to buy a USB cord!

Summary: For the last 10 years I've only owned HP printers--both all-in-one styles (printer/scanner/copier) and stand alone styles. This is my first Epson, and so far, it's par for the course. ============= PROS ============= -- Basic- unlike some other Epson (and other brand) models, this doesn't have some of the supposedly high-end frills like a memory card reader or a LCD touchscreen.
