Summary: We have 3 Epson Stylus Pro 9880's at work. The Epson Stylus Pro 7880 is the little brother to them. It is identical in every way except it's maximum width is 24" instead of the 44" of the 9880's. Epson has been steadily improving these plotters. We first owned a 9600 at work. The 7600 would have been the 24" counterpart. They were nice. They had 6 colors they used instead of 4 which allowed them to produce more accurate color.
Summary: this printer is a huge improvement to earlier Epson models. The inks are very vibrant and keep their color and the image print quality has been excellent. As with all inkjets, it likes to be run frequently so I run a print even when I don't need just to keep the nozzles wet. I use Epson presentation matte and enhanced matte for my art work. i do wish that for the price they would give you a RIP but it is another money stream for Epson. Highly recommend this printer.
Summary: Produces great frame-ready prints. I'm producing a museum exhibition and couldn't have asked for a better-quality printer, prints, and an easy network setup. The one slight drawback is that it has a rather large footprint, but it is a 24in printer.
Pros: Easy Setup, Fast Print Time, Low Ink Consumption, Reliable
Summary: There are three things that stand out about this printer. First and foremost is the output. The color and resolution is outstanding right out of the box. After loading the cartridges and running a test print, there were no adjustments needed to color or alignment. Allowing me to get up and running in about an hour –from box to first printout. Setup was very easy using the Epson supplied print drivers and the USB connection.
