It's bigger than what it looks like.

  • Excerpt: They shipped my printer quickly. After looking through it when I got it, everything is how it should be. This printer is huge and you will need two people to move it. You will also need a sturdy table to place it on since it weighs a little over 100 pounds.

Phenomenal

  • Excerpt: My first printer. Truly phenomenal rendition of colors, including color transitions, especially very dark tones are beautiful with a lot of detail still recognizable. This printer is amazing. Not cheap, but money well spent. Seeing a large print of a good photograph taken with a great camera printed with the right paper will blow you away.

Great Printer,great prints

Dave, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I take HDR and panoramic photographs.<br /> This printer's output is exceptional. The colors and detail are vivid. Roll paper cutting is a breeze.Epson's pigment inkset is complimented with quality papers. I achieve great results with the Hot Press and Cold Press matte papers for photos and fine art reproductions(think giclee). Black and white prints are exceptional with true blacks.<br /> With care and continual mantenance, print head clogs can be held at bay.
  • Pros: Quality Archival Printing
  • Cons: Needs Constant Cleaning

12 August 2013
  • Excerpt: I'm a creative services guy specializing in the music and entertainment industries, and needed the ability to print on a variety of media and sizes, as well as the capability of delivering high-quality prints at a fraction of what it would cost to outsource those jobs.<br /><br />I couldn't be happier with the Epson 4900DE.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality
  • Cons: Bulky

Epic printer for the price

  • Excerpt: Using this in conjuction with CGS Oris RIP tuner to match CADs and fabric swatches. <br /><br />This printer is amazingly affordable, plus the addition of the two colors and the HDR ink are miles above the Epson 4880 model. In comparison the ink costs are a little higher and the overall footprint of the printer is larger than the 4880, but I think the saturation levels with the addition of the new inks will allow for much better vibrance and clarity on my print outs.
  • Pros: Color Gamut, Easy To Set Up, Excellent Print Quality, Fast Operation
  • Cons: Large Footprint, Pricey Replacement Ink

Beautiful prints right out of the box

KC, B&H Photo
27 May 2013
  • Excerpt: Right out of the shipping box, followed the assembly and connected using USB. I printed a beautiful 8x10. Very nice ++. So...let's do something hard. I used 7 year old roll paper, 13 inches to print a 13 by 20 and it too was perfect +++. I am letting the printer manage it colors and its doing fine. The software install is straight forward (Windows 7). <br />The Stylus Pro 4900 is enormous in size. I knew it was bigger than others, but this is really big.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Excellent Print Quality

Possible Solution to Clogging Problem

Edziu60, B&H Photo
3 April 2013
  • Excerpt: I too had an issue with clogging. I completely lost the use of my yellow ink (3/25/13). After searching the internet for solutions the first, and easiest, to try was increasing the humidity in the room my 4900 is in. I live in Michigan and during the Winter, humidity in the upstairs of my home is relatively low. I placed a small humidifier set on low, with the door to the room the 4900 is in opened only half way, and left it for 4 hours.
  • Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Excellent Print Quality, Fast Operation, Reliable
  • Cons: Pricey Replacement Ink
