So far, not so good!

Jean McKenna, Amazon
14 February 2013
  • Summary: I like to think that ultimately I will be ecstatic with my new Stylus Pro 3880 but so far? not so much! Let me explain. Out of the box, untaped, tested it, worked fine. Printed 3 or 4 photos I needed for my photography assignment and they were head and shoulders above the output from my previous printer (an HP8250 which I loved), particularly in color and tone.

Have plenty of free time to devote to the purchase of this printer

  • Summary: UPDATE! I am now on my FOURTH printer! The last replacement arrived broken (not in transit), highly used and missing the entire front panel! Wow, does anyone even look at these things before they are shipped out?? I am having to buy the extended warranty as I paid 1200.00 for a super-cheap piece of plastic. Given they have sent me FOUR non-working printers in eight months I am seeing a future littered with more broken down wrecks. Be warned folks.

Was happy, but now frustrated

Beth, Epson
16 July 2012
  • Summary: I use this printer to make prints of my artwork and occasionally to print photographs. This printer worked ok in the beginning, but has the rear feeder has always been touchy. For several months now, the rear feeder will sometimes load the paper when it feels like it. But now it won't load at all. Of course, the printer is out of warranty at this point because I've had it for 2 years, so now I will have to pay someone to service it.

Disappointed

John, Epson
14 November 2011
  • Summary: The 3880 prints beautiful colors. It is ideal for paper media. That being said, I have spent a frustrating 12 hour day doing all I can think of to get a canvas print without success. My primary intention in buying this printer was to be able to print on canvas. The manual lists all of the media to be used with this machine which does not include canvas, however the manual is not available until the purchase is concluded.

User Review

  • Excerpt: The installer wrecked my Mac system files. I have had to rebuild everything from a Time Machine backup and am in touch with Epson to get the driver WITHOUT the installation program. So, beware, if you're on a Mac. I have friends who swear by this printer, so I will persevere, but their tech support so far has been lackluster (bored and disinterested tech on the phone) and it is taking a lot of time to follow up.

18 months and 1,000's of prints later

Amazon Customer, Amazon

  • Summary: At first I loved this printer. Great print quality, easy setup and flawless top paper loading. I use the printer for making 17" X 22" posters that then get laminated. Very happy with the print quality. But a few months after purchasing the printer, Epson discontinued the paper I was using. Had to go with a thicker paper and had problems. The thicker paper never lined up properly and the printed borders did not square with the paper edge.

A decent printer but...

  • Summary: I think I should have done better research before purchasing. This is a good printer, but probably not right for my needs. I've been using it for about 6 weeks now alongside an older Epson R1800. I use it for graphic design, mostly Illustrator/vector art in a small business setting printing approximately 40-60 sheets per week. The pros: 1. The color is beautiful (much more vibrant than the R1800) 2. The printer is relatively small for what it does 3.

flawed

Straight to the point, Amazon

  • Summary: Gives excellent prints, but if you do not use it frequently the magenta ink eventually clogs, and you are left with a useless printer.
