Summary: After setting up the printer with inks i noticed the maintenance cartridge was 80 % full. Isn't this a lot of wasted expensive ink. I am replacing my Epson 3800 printer with the 3880. The 3800 has been great.
Summary: The only difference between this and the standard edition is a bundled RIP - EFI eXpress. So this review is basically about the RIP. The RIP is minimally useful: yes it will process Postscript & represent the printer as a virtual Postscript printer to applications.
Summary: IT prints but they all look like very bad the advanced black and white is a joke: no contrast, shadows have blue tint -- yes i cleaned heads, nozzle checke and all that; usde correct icc profiles too; cannot wait to dump this thing
Summary: I give the product a fail, out of the box and a lengthy set up effort, it indicated the magenta cartridge is empty. I have to go through a complex effort to get it to open the print door, then reseat the cartridge, it works until the next time.
Summary: Just purchased and installed and the Epson printer utility crashes with Mac OS X 8. Unbelievable that such a supposedly quality product doesn't work with an operating system with a huge installed base.
Summary: I've been working with an hp pigment printer for several years but wanted a larger format and after much research, chose this epson. While I was prepared for the flimsy plastic, it was still somewhat shocking that such an expensive product would feel no better than a $100 printer. But ok.
Summary: I am not happy with the recent quality of Epson wide carriage printers. the 3880 is the 4th that I have owned. right out of the box I get two problems. the first is a head alignment which gives a paper sensor error, load correct paper. i am using the paper that Epson sent.
