Summary: I have owned large format printers for over 14 years. This smaller unit packs all the features of the larger printers. The print quality is now up to 2880 dpi. There are three ways to load paper - insuring that no paper type is too heavy. I am thrilled with this smaller version of the Epson Pro Series!
100X better than the Canon 9000 Mark II for so many reasons.

Summary: I've owned a 3800 that I purchased used for 550 about a year ago. It's a beautiful printer; as I've owned a Canon 9000 Mark II prior to this and it is like night and day. The Epson is a real professional printer. Reasons: I have to only change the ink once every few months; but with the canon I had to sometimes change the ink every day!! The Ink Republic Ink system added on to this printer makes it great.
A great printer for anyone who needs a wide format printer.

Summary: This is the second 38800 I have purchased. The first one was new. I moved the first one several times many miles with no issues. The print head finally quit. It printed many prints faithfully without a problem. I used it in my business so I figured it did not owe me anything. Wit a calibrated monitor it printed great color although slightly on the dark side which is a trait of Epson printers.
Summary: The Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printer is printing the digital photos I have taken perfectly. The details in the printing are amazingly accurate and the resolution distribution is so perfect if done appropriately according to photo size, are absolutely not visible. No dots visible! It works well with Adobe CS4PS and other programs I've tried and I can't find fault with it.
Summary: I'm using the 3800 to make prints for my photo clients. So far, I've made prints on Ultra Lustre, and they came out spot on, just like the pro lab I've used up until now. Set up was easy, but it takes up a lot of space. I have only one very minor complaint: The paper output door does not stay up due to the metal piece on the door not being attached strongly enough. Easy fix, though.
