Excerpt: I bought a new printer for my home use. It is Epson Stylus Photo R800. This is a quite economic printer if compared with another similar performance and very suitable on such recession situation. This is not a new product.
Summary: I was afraid to leave my aged Epson printer behind. It had done so much for me. However, this printer has allayed my fears. Same Epson quality with more bells and whistles. Excellent performance and the full warrantee. Exactly what an aspiring photographer needs to complete the job.
Summary: The Epson R800 is one of the few printers that can print wide panoramas on roll paper. I use my Canon powershot to take a series of panoramas and stitch them together using PhotoStitch, and I print them on 4" roll paper, usually about 24" wide. I bought an Epson refurbished, which did not work on arrival (heads could not be successfully cleaned). I took it to an Epson authorized service center who replaced the print head under warranty. Worked great when I got it back.
Epson R800 InkJet Printer - High Quality & a Great Buy!
3 May 2007
Summary: I'm a professional photographer and I've been using Epson printers for the last 7 years. I've had the R800 for about 4 weeks now and I have to tell you it is one of the finest small, moderately-priced ($399 MSRP) printers I have ever used. Like its big brother, the R1800 which I also have, it consistently give me excellent print quality at a rate of under 2-minutes per 8x10 on Epson Premium Glossy paper. And it's relatively quiet.
