Summary: This printer is my favorite except for one thing. I think this printer would last forever except that Epson somehow has figured out a way after a certain time or period to make the printer not recognize the ink cartridges. When this happens then you are done. I can say I still go back to buying more of the same printer. I use this printer because I am a Videographer and I print on my DVD's. I continue to buy this printer even though I think Epson is ripping people off.
Summary: This is my second Epson 380 Printer, the first I purchased new from an Epson Dealer and it is a GREAT Printer. This one that I just purchased on Amazon seem to work quite well,I have not had a chance to use it very much yet but I did print some pictures and it seems to the job quite well, the only problem I am having is when it releases the finished print it leaves a smudge at the bottom of the picture.
Summary: The epson cd dvd printers and others are great when the ink problem is solved. I just added a continuous ink supply with sponge-less cartridges for $50 which includes 720ml of ink, 1/10 the cost of ink when bought in bulk bottle and lasts longer. Go to ebay and put in continuous ink and your printers name. Or search "Super Smart Electronics" on ebay.

Summary: Before I start reviewing the actual printer, I'd like to point out a few things first: I have a pretty extensive knowledge in digital photography. I'm not a Pro, but I do know more than a regular consumer - working at Kodak in Digital Imaging department testing the software for professional digital cameras for a few years, and Xerox, where I did pretty much the same, but for high-end printers, helped me quite a bit to understand the basics of digital printing and...
Summary: First the ink usage is absolutely the worst I have ever seen. It is really not the amount of ink it uses but the minuscule amount of ink that Epson loads in the cartridges. This problem is easily solved by using 3rd party inks and spongless refillable self resetting cartridges or even external ink tanks. This system will cost you approx. $50 but will save you that much in your first refill.
Summary: Just got this printer to replace my Epson r320 which I loved.. Got this one but found out cannot use compatable ink on it. That I hate so will be selling this one soon as I can find another r320 used!! Ink is not worth the price......
Summary: This printer does suck up the ink beyond what I would have expected. Still I can't fault the quality of the photo's printing to DVD's or photo paper. The image is far superior to what I expected. We're looking at some "compatible" printer ink's with this printer. Epson really needs to bring the price of the ink down a bit.
