Epson Stylus Photo R3000 Inkjet Printer
Summary: Have used Epson printers throughout the years at my job and purchased one for home use which is the R3000 Inkjet Printer. So far the printing has been excellent and the photos come out very nicely.
Summary: I use the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 for printing photographs downloaded to my computer from 3 different cameras. It makes excellent prints and is much faster than my 2200. However the on standard settings the R3000 prints are noticably darker than the 2200. I have to use special settings to get the R3000 prints to be as bright as I prefer. Warning! Use only Epson ink. I used other brands of ink with disasterous results.
Summary: So let me start off by saying I'm really bitter about my decision to buy this machine. I wished I could keep using my Epson R2400, but it really wastes more ink now than ever mostly because the quality is no longer good. It still prints great when it wants to, but usually between ink swaps debris and gunk get caught from somewhere and dirties the prints. Not all the time. I've printed with this machine since it came into the market.
Excerpt: This machine worked well for three years. I probably make one print a week. Suddenly it began to drop blobs of PK ink on my prints. Fixing it will be more than half the cost of a new one! Checked the Yahoo/Epson users group and found that this is a problem with other users.
Summary: Purchased this printer to replace my R1900, which had a disappointingly short lifespan! THAT is another story--the only Epson product that ever proved to be a bad experience (I have had several GOOD experiences over the years). The R3000, so far, is a JOY, especially with the $200 rebate. Its performance has been stellar so far. The only complaint I have (not trivial) is that when switching from Photo Black to Matte Black (or vice-versa) too much ink is used up.
