Summary: I purchased this printer specifically to print CD's. When I brought it home, I tested it on 4 x 6 Epson Photo Paper, and the reults were impressive to say the least. I printed 3 photos. I then setup to print CD's. the first dozen or so discs came out beautifully.
Summary: I have wasted much of two weekends trying to get this sucker to run on a network with two Macs (one wired, one wireless) and a PC (wireless) and a Buffalo print server box. Oh, I had the PC printing in minutes. It's the Mac part that has been the nightmare.
Summary: This is my 4th Epson and you would think I would have learned my lesson by now. Each newer model is more unreliable than the previous. I used to be able to get a few good years of serice from an Epson. With the R300, I barely got 1 year of service before the print quality started going down hill.
Excessive Ink Consumption - VERY expensive to operate

Summary: The ink consumption in this printer is beyond unacceptible. I am CONSTANTLY replacing ink cartridges and this is a very low-use printer. In my opinion, what many of the printer manufacturers are now doing to FORCE excessive ink consumption is borderline criminal.
Summary: I use this junk printer at work to print out DVD labels and cases. Using printable DVDrs, this printer is great, the colors are pretty accurate to the original, and the DVDR looks professional.
You will never be able to print because you will never have ink!!
8 May 2008
Summary: It's just CRIMINAL what they do!!! I just replaced the cartridges, I probably printed 4 pictures and it has no ink again. The worst part is that with previous models you had to replace 4 cartridges, now you have to replace 6!!
Summary: I am extremely frustrated with Epson. Their printers stink. At least the Stylus Photo R300. Epson doesn't tell it's customers that the printer uses ink constantly. I mean constantly. I have printed the equivalent of four 8 x 11 sheets of photos in the year I have had the printer.
Don't be tempted to waste your time and money with this one!

Summary: As a photographer, I had done quite a bit of research before going with this printer. It boasts great resolution, and (here is the one good thing I will say about it), the photos it prints are outstanding. However, there are several fundamental things VERY WRONG with it.
Summary: I hate this printer. I wasted my money. Having 6 ink cartridges is a nightmare as it will not print if you are out of ANY of the cartridges. Even if you tell it to print black ink only, and light magenta happens to be out, it will not print anything. It is slow to print.
Fortune on Ink.. even if you only want to use black ink
Michael Stefancic, Amazon
8 May 2008
Summary: This is a piece of junk. I mostly only use the black ink however, I am forced to replace all my colours when each of the other ones dry up which is every couple months. The software prevents the user from printing, even if the image is all black and you tell it to use black ink only.
