Summary: I used to be an Epson sales rep (and I'm not working for a different printer now) and I've had this printer for over two years but be warned, it simply will not print properly on matte paper through the normal sheet feeder. I'm stuck with several boxes of Moab's beautiful Lasal Matte which either won't feed at all or will shoot through unprinted -even with me standing over the printer trying to carefully push it into the feeder at exactly the right moment.
Summary: I bought this printer in late 2007. The original printer printed too darkly. Epson sent a "rebuilt" printer which didn't turn on. I send the rebuilt printer back in May.Epson promised they would send another replacement as soon as the received the "rebuilt" printer. By mid June, Epson made me send the FEDEX tracking receipt to prove I send the "rebuilt" printer. Epson found that they had indeed received the "rebuilt" printer.
I hope you like doing nozzle cleaning routines and buying ink

Summary: This printer has pretty great color and makes very nice black and whites. But having to swap matte/glossy into the same slot in the print head is a ridiculous waste of time, energy, not to mention ink, as it has to run several cleaning routines across every single color in order to prime just that one head. And that's this printer's major problem.
Summary: The R2400 was a great printer while it lasted, but I purchased it in Feb of 2006, and by December of 2007, it has stopped accepting paper. In that time, it was rarely used, I had a second Epson printer (a cheaper all-in-one that I've had for over 4 years) for day to day stuff and the R2400 for graphic design projects, so needless to say, I'm a little surprised that in so little time, it has gone on the fritz.
