Summary: I ordered it for a friend. It did not work on his laptop computer with the Microsoft Vista operating system. So we threw it in the garbage and went out and bought a brand new HP printer (which didn't work in the Vista system either, only the Windows 7). It was worth a try.
Summary: I love the Epson Stylus R220, and wish I could use it forever. Problem is, they only last about 9 months, and now that they're obsolete (in fact they stopped making them in late 2006) it's next to impossible to find a 'new' one. I'll have to finally catch up and buy a better printer next year, a NEW 2008-2009 model, but resent the fact that that will require changing to a new type of ink, which mean resetting all my profiles. And that can be a big hassle.
Summary: I've been using the R220 for over a year now. Print quality is excellent in all modes, CD, photo and everyday printing. However, after about 6 months I found that the CD tray needs a small push to enter the machine properly; every time. Now, thicker photo paper will not feed without a "little push"! So yes, print quality is excellent, but after a little more than a year seems this printer will be ready for the "bone yard" very soon.
Summary: The selling page indicated that it was used for either a short time, ten pages, or only a couple pages(I don't remember exact wording but I remember intent). What I got out of the wording was that it wasn't used that much and the inks would all be nearly full (after priming of course). Instead two of the inks were less than 25% and 4 were in %35-%40 range.
OK Photo printer but be warned of ink cartridge costs.

Summary: This inexpensive printer does a nice job of printing photos and on CDs. My complaint with Epson printers is with their "intelligent" chip embedded ink cartridges that monitor ink usage based on page yeilds rather than true ink volume. In short, this means the cartridge will show the same usage of ink whether you are printing pages and photos in draft mode or in high quality mode.
