PRINTER FOR PARTS ONLY
3 August 2011
Summary: I CAN'T GIVE A REVIEW BECAUSE THIS PRINTER IS ONLY USED FOR PARTS IT IT A BROKEN PRINTER. I DON'T KNOW WHAT MORE TO SAY BUT THAT I WILL USE IT FOR PARTS AND I STILL HAVE NOT CHECKED IF THE PARTS I NEED ARE WORKING OR NOT.
"Worked very well for about a year, then crashed."
10 November 2010
Pros: Color saturation was usually good. Occasionally had to adjust color on computer and reprint. Speed of printing is very reasonable considering the quality of output.
Cons: Large footprint of the printer. I knew before buying the unit, but it got to be annoying. Major issues with printer heads after only one year. I would clean the heads and have 5 great pictures, then have to reclean.
Summary: Setup was by the book and went w/o a problem. It takes a fair amount of desk space, but that is to be expected. The relatively low rating is due to the print quality. Using Epson glossy paper and with their ICC, I am disappointed with the quality of the first 3 prints. Colors don't 'pop' as they did with my canon i9900. I'll keep working on the color management and report back later.
Summary: After four+ good years my R800 started having on and off mechanical problems (wouldn't feed or get the paper through without printing). Betting on the excellent print quality of the R800, and the [$] rebates (yet to receive), I purchased the R1900. The print quality is as good as the R800/1800 and it is way faster than these two. However, the ink consumption is way too high, thus my only three star overall rating.
Pros: Easy Setup, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time, Great Contrast, Great Overall Quality, Sharp Tones & Colors
Summary: I replace R-1800 with this R-1900. Little more satisfied with this one then with 1800. Good for gloss paper, not sharp enaugh on matt paper. Very slow with print CD and DVD disk, and small cartidges goes very fast.
Pros: Accurate Colors, Easy Setup, Easy To Use
Cons: Pricey Ink Replacement, Slow Print Time, Too much ink used, Unreliable
Summary: This printer is formatted for use with gloss papers. When used with matte papers, the ink bleeds, and causes blurry/jagged edges especially on or around text. Only good if you plan to use glossy papers.
Summary: I have had this printer for only a month. I previously had a R800 and was satisfied with everything except the ink consumption(until it died). I just had to re-install the software, because it would not respond. The print quality is excellent. I have printed mainly portrait and have been very pleased with the colors. Others complained about the set up-I did not have a problem. It is big, but that was expected. I will let you know in a year if I still like it.
Summary: After using the Epson R1900, I fouund it to be a very capable printer. Prints look fantastic with great detail. However, trying to use other manufacturers papers proved to be a nightmare. Using Epson papers was far simpler. Also, the tiny ink cartridges is a great letdown. The printer stopped printing half way into a print job becaused a cartridge was low on ink.
