Excerpt: I have the printer a few years, had to replace another C88+ that was faulty. I thought I would print some photos on it, but it's 95% of the time used for documents. When printing docs, like my resume, I have to tilt the paper a bit in the feeder so that text comes out straight. Pages like that often take a long time to print, even though there aren't any pictures included, maybe this is because I don't use it very often.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Size
Cons: Slow Print Time, Too much ink used, Unreliable
Summary: We've been using Epson printers for close to 15 years now. This C88+ has been a good solid general purpose printer for every day work. We've had 3 over the years. They normally last from 3 to 5 years. This one worked fine for 32 days. Just over the Amazon return period, when the Print Head went bad. Having had this many Epsons, a Nozzle Check pattern that prints extra spots above, or below, the test lines, is not a clog problem.
Summary: Sorry, but I just received this new printer this afternoon. Took it out of the box and hooked it upm properly, I thought. It will not print, however, and tells me that it is not properly connected.
Excerpt: Sorry, but I just received this new printer this afternoon. Took it out of the box and hooked it upm properly, I thought. It will not print, however, and tells me that it is not properly connected. This printer is a Stylus C88+. The old one was a Stylus C88. BOTH appear on my printer list but the new one shows as a C88 #1, not as a C88. Would it help if I deleted my C88 from the list of equipment?
Summary: this is the 4th C88+ printer I've had in 3 years the first one lasted about 2 years the second I bought lasted less than 1 year a refurbished replacement was replaced under my waranty, it lasted from april this year until now september 2010 i was told the waranty would not cover it so I purchased a Brand new one as a loyal coustomer for a fair price upon receiving I had 3 full ink catridges 1 less than half full that being black right now I am waiting for a new FULL...
Summary: Has been a reliable printer. I have needed to clean the heads often to keep from having many lines on my pictures. Big downfall is that, after a while, the pages started printing crooked. Pictures and text aren't very sharp either.
Excerpt: I am comparing the Epson Stylus C88+ to my old printer the Epson Stylus Color 740. To me there is no comparison, the older printer did not consume mass amounts of ink like the C88+ does. The paper tray in the older printer was alot easier to adjust and put the paper in the tray. Over all the print quality is less. Very disapointed!
