Summary: I purchased this printer, because the C84 I was using was flashing a message stating that, operating life of the computer had expired. The item I purchased was to replace this unit. It never worked, and in days I junked it. It was listed as replaced stock from NASA offices. I have since purchased an Epson R280,and it works fine. The ability to warn the user that a unit is about to malfunction, raises many questions.
Summary: I owned a brand new one and the photo quality was exellent, but when the print heads get plugged you mught as well throw the whole printer away. I wouldn't believe any one who is selling a used one because they do print very well or they wouldn't be selling it. Unless you can see it print stay away from used ones. The ink is very expensive, but then again it prints some beautiful pictures.
Summary: Out of the 4 of these that we bought ALL 4 DIED within a year. It seems once that jam 1 time, they always complain of no ink even when you put new ink in. I later read about a class action suit against them specific to this problem. We could have gotten some small $ back, but it wasn't worth it. We threw em away. Also, please ignore the 1 5 star review below this one. The guy can't even spell ca(r)tridge, and we WERE using only Epson cartridges.
Summary: I'm on my second C84, first replaced under warranty. You CAN'T print black only...sucks all colors printing black. Computer chips on the ink carts calculate of prints runs then shut down, indicating "empty" when 60% full. Major INK HOG: it will use 1/3 of a cart performing head-cleaning... which it does at every start-up. You will have to run a head clean 2-3 times every time you use it. Epson Tech Support - a JOKE! DO NOT BUY THIS HUNK OF CRAP!!!
Summary: This printer uses far too much ink, won't print when any cartridges are empty, and as others have noted, will indicate that cartrdiges are empty when they still have ink in them. A total ripoff.
