Excerpt: It's amazing what $100 will buy these days. Just a few years ago, people would be happy to pay ten times as much for a printer that runs as fast and prints as well as the Epson Stylus C84. Unfortunately, it must compete with others at the same—or lower—price, and it comes up short on speed and features. The print quality is excellent, though, as you'd expect from Epson.
Conclusion: However, the photo print quality compromise may be too much for photo enthusiasts. The C84 isn't a budget A4 format alternative to the Epson's exceptional Stylus 2100 A3 format pigment ink photo printer. For something akin to that, you'll have to look to the forthcoming Epson Stylus R800.
