Summary: This item was very clean for a used printer. Print head had dried out and was replaced with one from an existing C80 that had failed mechanically. After normal clean up etc, printer is performing excellent. Was purchased to replace a C80 that failed. And the price was great !
Summary: This is an excellent quality printer - typical of Epson products. The colors are rich and vibrant - even photos printed years ago still look new. The downside of this printer is that the actual printheads are integral to the printer and the ink cartridges are just reservoirs. (Other printers have the printheads on the cartridges.
Summary: This is a great all around printer that can print on multiple types of media. Its not that fast but not slow either. The print quality is great as long as you keep the printheads clean. The only thing I had a problem with is that sometimes it takes a while to start up and get ready to print. Overall I would say its an excellent printer for a student or someone who doesn't print a lot of photos.
Summary: On the plus side: This is one of the fastest ink-jet printers around. Print quality for black print is better than many lasers. Its archival ink should last for 70 years plus, no other low end printer has this new ink technology. Photos on matte paper rival the professional Epson 2000. It can accept paper up to any length. It has been trouble free. The on-screen ink level gauge is first rate.
Summary: If you're looking for a generic color printer, the C80 is most likely your best choise, even compared with more expensive printers. It is fast, economical, quiet (except for the paper-feed mechanism) and prints excellent quality text, graphics and images in both B&W and color. I use it with XP, without any problems -- true plug and play, without the need of any driver installation.
Summary: Print quality is excellent if you chose the right setting when you print. The print options allow you to choose from settings such as regular printing paper, to heavy matte paper to premium glossy paper and etc. You can also manually select your own resolution--the C-80 prints up to 2800 dpi producing excellent results printing photos. The black and white printing is the fastest I've seen (even faster than some cheaper laser printers).
Summary: Just had this printer a couple weeks now, and finally completed making it so that it prints from my home PC via Parallel, and Laptop via USB. Prints are great! So far I have only had the opportunity to burn up some Coated 8.5 x 11 sheets on pictures and some graphics, plus a plain paper envelope or two. No problem as long as the driver installed properly.
Summary: The Good: The print quality is excellent. I love the dura-brite inks - they are instantly waterproof and smudge proof. The printer is very fast once it starts printing, but seem to take longer than previous Epsons to begin printing. The Bad: The paper feed mechanism is VERY noisy. If you are used to buying inexpensive clone cartridges, you can say goodbye to that idea. The Ugly: The C80 is a big ugly box.
Summary: I've been using Epson Stylus Color printers for awhile, originally the Stylus 740, and recently the 777i printer. Each has been impressive in the print quality, especially photos. I decided to make the leap and upgrade to the Stylus C80 printer, in part due to the $30 rebate offered. Setup was very easy as is with most Epson printers. I use it with a USB cable to my Apple iBook computer and had no trouble with installing and using the printer drivers.
Excerpt: • Intro.
