Summary: I have had an Epson printer before, a Stylus 600 and it was of better quality than this one. This printer prints fast and the quality is pretty good. The downside is the printing heads clog and need cleaning frequently, which uses up a lot of ink. This can get costly.
Summary: Yes, the output can be great. And, based on extensive fading tests I've conducted, the pigment-based inks last and last (try leaving non-pigment inks on the dashboard of your car in the Florida sun for 6 months). BUT. 1 out of 3 prints OR MORE needs re-printing due to clogged nozzles.
Summary: This is my third Epson in the last 6 years. And it gives me the worst experience. First, I got the software problem. The printer just randomly stops during printing process (under win2k , USB) and not responding. Restart the printer doesn't solve the communication problem.
Summary: I bought the Epson C-80 hoping for great photo quality prints. Unfortunately, I've gotten nothing but dull photos. I've tried every settings with several different types of paper and I can't seem to get an acceptable "photo quality" print.
Great quality but HUGE BOTTOM UNPRINTABLE/LOWER QUALITY AREA

Summary: Don't know about the clueless person who couldn't get this installed - that went very quickly without the least hitch, and I did it under 98 and NT. I've compared the output of this printer to a multi-thousand laser and must say the similarity of quality is quite astounding.
Summary: Colors in photos are washed out. Cannot handle deep blues, deep reds or deep yellows. The ink is handy though, replaceable individually, but I wish they would revamp the ink quality for this model. Construction quality is superb, this printer will last you several good years. It prints very quickly.
Summary: Pluses for this printer includes cheap price, individual color ink wells, and very good plain paper prints. Prints on matte paper is supposed to be very good, but I haven't tried it yet. Prints on glossy print, in my own opinion, is poor. I've compared it to the HP 970c...
Summary: I bought this because I saw a good review in a technical magazine, it was under $200, and it came with a $30 rebate. As soon as I got it I tried out the printer to see the quality of the print. I found that the comments about the pathetic text quality was right.
Summary: I purchased the C80 a week ago based on reviews I had read in several publications and because the Epson Stylus 850 I had before produced beautiful photo results (alas it died from clogged print head syndrome). Installation on my PowerMac was a snap.
