Summary: The price is good and it's a simple printer, exactly what I wanted because I had one before for that lasted many years and it works just fine for me for my personal use. I think Epson should re-consider making this exact model because more people like this product than they might be aware of. I went through a great deal of trouble to find this printer again after all these years and was pleased someone had one.
Summary: It is true that these printers require frequent head cleaning. It also is true that they can go through ink quickly; however, this happens only if the factory settings are used. If one takes the time to adjust the printing properties, ink consumption can be dramatically reduced. Can we say "Read the Manual"? It is true that the printer life expectancy isn't the best. These printers simply don't last like the revered model 740, and eventually leave fine banding on photos.
Summary: I bought this product for my sister who does not have internet and is "challenged" with computers. Her printer died. She needed a printer that would work with her old computer. I have a friend that has a C62. I like Epson and think they are fairly easy to troubleshoot. She likes the printer fine. It works well and also had some ink in it ready to go. We were very happy with the printer and the whole process on this item.
Summary: Nice old workhorse! Easy even for non computer savvy people to connect and use. Simple is GOOD. Also works with webTV, which is my dad's internet connection. A nice, uncomplicated piece of machinery.
Summary: The Epson C62 is by no means a cutting edge printer. But it is a great utility printer. They can tend to self-destruct after a whle. I have owned 3 or 4 and most have lasted at least 2-3 years. I also use the remanufactured ink cartridges (most everywhere can get a bundle of color/black for $25) and I use the Inksaver software to adjust how much ink I use for every print job. That way I am able to economize as needed.
HORRIBLE PRINTER!!! Much better choices out there!

Summary: THIS IS THE WORST PRINTER I HAVE EVER HAD! My dad bought this printer when he got a new computer. It looked cool and he had an excellent time with his. It came time for me to get a computer for myself. I was going into fourth grade and most of my friends had computers. I got a Dell Dimension 2350 Series and I chose the Epson Stylus C62 printer to go along with it. My dad had such a good time with his, so we chose one for me. It worked well, at first.
Summary: I don't have one of these printers but I have an Epson CX3200 which uses the same ink cartridges. and in spite of what Epson tells you and what some people have said her, you can refill the cartridges. I refill mine all the time. There is a computer chip on teh cartridges and you need to purchase a chip resetter to make your printer accept the refilled cartridge. You can buy one on line for <$10. They used to be around $25. But cartridges are very cheap <$5 each online.
Summary: The reason so many of the printers are no good is because the print heads clog, and they do not provide new ones with the ink cartridge as the other printer companies do, but even this may not have helped because they came up with the Dura Brite Ink which is suppose to last many many years (in an example of Dura Brite ink excellence they kept a picture printed with Dura Brite Inks in a jar of water for 3 years with the picture being in perfect condition after all that...
Summary: It amazes me that this printer has received so many bad reviews. I bought one USED -- the color and print quality are excellent and the machine is just as reliable as the old Epson 740 (which was a workhorse of a printer for the price). I have never had a problem with my C62. For those who have complained about the print quality...try using quality paper and you'll be amazed at the results. It also handles labels quite well.
