Summary: I bought the printer because my previous one died. This one arrived apparently intact; however, I cannot get it to work. I put $62 worth of new ink in it. I pressed the ink replacement button--the carriage went all the way to the right, made a horrible buzzing noise, and then the printer turned itself off. I've tried many times to get it to work, but the same sequence takes place. I've used the C-60 for years, and know I did everything right.
Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!! PLEASE!! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN SANITY!!! I got this printer for free when I purchased a Mac Mini, and let me tell you, the price was too high. They should pay people to take these monsters away! I average about 30 printed sheets per black ink cartridge. That is NOT an exaggeration. Not only that, but the print quality is atrocious, leaving horizontal lines because it is constantly clogged.
Summary: This printer has yet to print a decent page. It CONSTANTLY needs to have the print heads cleaned, and even then you have a 90% chance that it will leave horizontal bands through your text and pictures where it skips. On top of that, it needs ink refills faster then any printer I've ever had. Don't waste your time or money. I'm ready to trash it and get something else.
Summary: I think it lasted well the first year or so, and it's nice that you can buy generic cartridges for like $3 if you buy in bulk, but this printer is a nightmare. Not for college students! I came back from winter break only to find it not able to print much. The ink head gets dried out or clogged up if inactive! Makes you psychotic and wastes HOURS UPON HOURS of time, with trying to run printhead cleaning utilities.
Summary: I'll concur with most other reviewers. Takes forever to start printing. If you don't print every day then you'd better use the head cleaning utility before each print (which wastes ink). It knows if you're using non-original cartridges and I suspect that it treats them differently. Original cartridges are very expensive and don't last long. I'll never buy Epson again.
Summary: This printer is frustrating beyond belief. If you have no black ink, the software does not allow you to print anything. Even if you are not trying to print anything black. Not to mention it goes through ink very quickly and constantly nags you to buy expensive epson cartridges.
Summary: Unfortunately we have 2 of these in the family - don't ask how. They've both been rubbish from the beginning. They refuse to print black if the colour cartridge has run out and vice versa. The colour cartridge is approximately £30 and runs out very quickly. The chips prevent them from printing even when they haven't run out - resetting them with a chip resetter proves this.
Summary: I agree with many who complain about the sound, but what bothers me is the prodigious use of ink. I have replaced both black and color cartridges four times in about 7 months - despite infrequent use. The money you save in purchasing this relatively inexpensive printer will more than offset by the money you spend puchasing ink cartridges. Also, despite having the printer replaced twice by the the company because of defects, I still can't get the ink monitor to work.
Summary: The product is so so and the technical service is even worse. First, I need to wait for a long long long time (at least 45 mins) to have a chance to talk to a tech person. Then, after an hour long talking and trying (very similar to the trouble shooting part in the menu), he told me that "I cannot help you! You need to find some outside help!" What was that? Don't waste your money!
Summary: Yes, the printer is certainly noisy and shakes the table underneath it. It makes nice copies, but the ink ran out so fast! The cartridges are very expensive and hard to come by--as a matter of fact, because the ink ran out so fast and I had to wait on more cartridges--it brought my home business to a standstill for three days. If you buy this printer, buy a box of cartridges to go with it--you'll need them.
