Summary: This printer was packed in a soft box and the buttons on top were broken. I tried to replace them with my current printer and the printer carriage was making a real bad noise and not moving properly.
Summary: i was looking to replace the same printer that i previous had and broke. this one has a streaking problem with red ink. after printing two pages it goes away. i contacted the seller to see how this could be fixed.
Summary: I purchased the Epson Stylus Photo 820 Inkjet Printer because I had owned an Epson C62 before that. The C62 was fast and the print quality was good, but most of all the ink was very inexpensive.
Summary: This is a good inexpensive printer. We use it to print photos and it generally does a very ggod job. On a few occassions the pictures have been too blue/purple and we had to adjust the color in the properties.
Pros: a few times the pictures have had too much blue and purple in them
Cons: a few times the pictures have had too much blue and purple in them
Summary: Entry level Photo printer. Does excellent photos, but is picky on paper used-suggests Epson's own. Settings can be changed if your knowledgeable(I'm not) Supplied software useful for average person, not for pro, or demanding work.
Summary: I'm a commercial photographer, owning an Epson 1270 and the newer Epson 1280. Both printers are amazing, but expensive. I bought the Epson 820 for home use since it has the same specs as the 1280, just doesn't print large output. Straight out of the box, my printer was defective.

Summary: I needed a better photo quality printer to supplement my HP 1120C. My application is for personal photo printer not as a production or office printer. I researched all types of photo quality printers for several weeks and was going to go with the Cannon until I noticed how cheaply even the high end...
Summary: The picture quality of the Epson 820 is pretty good even using the 720 DPI quality. I set my default to print at 720 DPI to save ink. I found the 2880 DPI quality is useless since at that DPI, my Epson Photo Paper curled due to over saturation of ink.
Summary: I'm going to be pretty brief on this one - I've owned this printer for good few years, and got plenty of good use out it - wow I'm being so fair to it it's not funny - I have finally reached the point where my patience with it clearly run out. Why the headache? Simple - one word - inks.
