Epson PictureMate

PC Magazine
16 September 2006
  • Conclusion: The Epson PictureMate is an ink jet–based dedicated photo printer limited to a maximum 4-by-6 photo size. But the photos look as good as anything you can get from film, and they cost only 29 cents each.
  • Pros: Output is true photo quality, waterproof, smear-proof, and only 29 cents per print. Offers direct printing from cameras, memory cards, and CD, ZIP, and USB drives.
  • Cons: Photo size limited to a maximum of 4 by 6 inches. No preview LCD.

  • Conclusion: It's easy to nitpick the Epson PictureMate – but this would mostly be to miss the point. The PictureMate has a very clear raison d'être – to print long lasting 6x4 photos as conveniently as possible and at an affordable price. It fulfils its purpose very well.

  • Summary: The Epson PictureMate is a printer that has a very specific purpose - printing 10x15cm glossy prints that rival traditional photo labs in an accessible and easy to use way. Unfortunately Epson have not really succeded in either aspect.

Epson PictureMate 100

PC Advisor
12 July 2006
  • Summary: Epson introduced its PictureMate range for 4x6 photo-sized printing over a year ago, and we had lots of praise for its tiny dimensions, sturdy carry handle and ease of use. The PictureMate 100 has lost some advanced features, but it's even easier to use and costs under £100.

Pocket Lint
11 March 2006
  • Conclusion: The Espon PictureMate 100 surprised us, because following our experiences with the original version we weren't too impressed. This time around however, the 100 has more than made up for it.
  • Pros: Prints, memory card support, price
  • Cons: Small screen, on the large side

Epson PictureMate
