Summary: I bought this as the networking was important, as there is a shortage of USB ports on my MAC and I didn't want to use wireless (call me weird!). It's been fantastic, easy to set up and totally reliable. It is great as a home printer, even for fairly heavy use. Print quality is really good, though I haven't printed serious pictures as I have inkjets and dye-sub for that. Graphics on web pages look fine, though, so for fair quality I'd use it. Recommended.
Excerpt: Epson Acculaser 1750N I bought one of these about 2 months ago from Printer World (via their Ebay store). I paid £78. This was the lowest price I could find for it. Why did I buy one? Well my missus has been doing consultancy work over the last couple of years. As a consequence, from printing a few tens of pages a month, our shared Canon inkjet MP250 had climbed to hundreds a month. Expenditure on inkjet cartridges was going through the roof.
Pros: Cheap to buy well featured for the price . Good manual, wide OS support . Easy to set up and use
Cons: High cost of genuine Epson cartridges . Print speed maybe insufficient for some users .
