Good first gen product, banding problem is very disappointing

Summary: I was excited when I saw DYMO release this because I'm a fan of their products, and I bought it based on the reviews here on Amazon. The printer lives up to expectations in the categories of speed, ease of use, and reliability of operation, but falls short on quality versus other printers out there such as the Epson R series.
Summary: First the good news: The DiscPainter is super-easy to use. The DiscPainter software is head-and-shoulders better than any similar tool. Incredibly intuitive with all the bells and whistles I could want. Designing a label is actually fun. Then just pop in a disc and within a couple minutes you have a fully-printed CD/DVD ready to go. For ease of use, the DiscPainter is definitely the best I've ever used. There's only one drawback to the DiscPainter, but it's a big one.
Summary: Don't expect rich blacks, or smooth gradients. But if you just want a simple print-to-disc printer, the DiscPainter serves its purpose. Oh, and expect to waste at least 5 discs getting the settings just right.
