Summary: I've used this printer for about 6 months. It does print relatively quickly - not as fast as a laser printer, but faster than some of the other desktop printers I have had. The optical character recognition on the scanner leaves a lot to be desired. I scanned a letterhead and it did not recognize the font, so it ad-libbed with all kinds of weird characters. Made me chuckle, but if this is something that matters a lot to you, you may want to consider it.
Summary: ...This one looked good, and at the price, better. But (lo and behold) 14 months later (and, well... sure, out of warranty) it refused to print anymore and got stuck with the message "There is something wrong with the printhead". And so it was: I could not print, I could not scan, I could not anything. The printer was, again, STUCK. But worse was when I contacted Dell and tried buying a new printhead (basically, a cartridge containing the ink nodes).
Summary: This all-in-one has some nice features and seems to put out pretty good quality fairly quickly. But be prepared to buy a lot of ink. We use this printer only sparingly and yet have had to replace the black ink twice and the color ink once after only a month or so of use. It was so bad, I thought there must have been a leak. There is no leak, this thing just drink ink.
