Excerpt: Printer works great but, waited over 2 weeks beyond confirmed delivery date and it never came. I had to call Staples twice before I was informed it was out of stock and I had paid for it in advance. The day I found out it was out of stock, I purchased printer somewhere else and it was with a comparable discount. Would have appreciated Staples "out of stock" info earlier and without me contacting them.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Sharp tones & colors
Excerpt: Easy wireless hookup. Print quality is pretty good even on just regular paper. Its burning through the starter toner quick, but I just ordered generic ink refills for cheap off ebay. Hopefully they will work. I've never had luck with color printers, and this one actually worked pretty well. Its a little slow printing over the wireless network, but that could just be the network lag.
Excerpt: I replaced my Brother laser with this printer (same network... same location) and have had nothing but problems maintaining a connection to this printer. I eventually had to move it to within a few few of the wireless router to maintain a connection. Software install and configuration is much more difficult than other brands. DELL should be ashamed to offer such a poor product. I would avoid this printer at all costs and will probably return it shortly.
Excerpt: I was excited the first night when I installed the drivers and began printing with the C1660w. However, when I attempted to print some important documents the next morning from the same computer, it would not. I had to re-install the drivers from scratch again. I had to do it 3x over the course of that first AM printing session. Also, if you use more than one device to print to it, you have to re-install the other one afterwords.
Pros: Accurate Colors, Efficient, Fast, Quiet
Cons: Only Light-weight Paper, Poor Connectivity, Uses Too Much Ink
Excerpt: I am still trying to utilize the wifi feature. I'm still trying to understand the instructions. We have one printer on our local wireless area network but I've had a few problems with the instructions.
Excerpt: The specs on the printer say 12 ppm but does not mention the lag from when you hit print to the first page actually printing which is long. I purchased 5 of them and wish i could sent 3 unopened back. i have many dell printers 2330d, 1250c and they meet or exceeed what i expected, but the c1660w is a real disappointment. Only good note is that the quality of the print in B/W and Color is excellent and that is nice.
