This Printer IS A Piece Of GARBAGE!

steve rivers, Amazon
28 January 2015
  • Summary: This printer must be the worst printer ever made! We are a small company with low print volume. We started having print quality problems after the first 3 months and continue to have problems today. We had numerous tech visits, numerous parts replaced and 3 replacement units.

Breaks quickly, do not buy

KG, Amazon
20 January 2015
  • Summary: Not sure how people are giving this printer great reviews.... I run it for only low volume, after about 14 months and about 5000 copies the fuser, belt and a few other things had to be replaced. I had to buy the extended warranty because it was cheaper then the price of parts.

Piece of crap! Worked fine for about 9 months

B. Gumm, Amazon
24 November 2014
  • Summary: Piece of crap! Worked fine for about 9 months, then color went out of register, it keeps stopping with an error message saying to contact support if this error message keeps happening, and the colors are faded and awful. It can't handle two-sided printing if the file is large. RUN AWAY.

Bad expensive printer

Jenn, Amazon
3 July 2012
  • Summary: Got this printer and had nothing but problems. Long phone calls with tech support, replaced drums and toner several times. Dell eventually had to send us a new printer and now 1 month after the new printer is installed, the belt has to be changed.

Stay away from this printer!

Deborah L. Santini, Amazon
16 December 2011
  • Summary: Have had the 5130 CDN for 13 months now. The consumables are incredibly expensive and only available from Dell. We are constantly having to replace toner, the toner waste container, fuser, etc. They are all high-priced from Dell.

Good printing, bad parts...

KG, Amazon
10 June 2011
  • Summary: As far as printer performance I would say its great, fast, crisp colors....but I had a major issue with the printer after about 1 year, 2-3 parts completely just stopped working, I had to extend the warranty to get the parts covered, I am pretty annoyed about ti because the printer had less then 10k...

Why I won't be buying any more Dell printers

hfffoman, Amazon
9 July 2014
  • Summary: The printer itself is ok but there is one small problem that means it is useless. It puts streaks on the paper. To stop this happening Dell conveniently supplies a cleaning wand that is cleverly designed to reach right inside the printer and remove the cause of the streaking.

Why I won't be buying from Dell again

hfffoman, Amazon
9 July 2014
  • Summary: The printer itself is ok but not long after the warranty ran out it started putting horizontal lines on the paper, making it useless. I spent absolutely ages trying to fix it, including a long time trying to get help from Dell, who were totally unhelpful and clearly have no interest in customer...

WORST PRINTER EVER! DO NOT BUY!

thequinndrummer, Amazon
11 September 2013
  • Summary: I ordered one of these printers for my office direct from Dell at the start of 2012. In that time I have had 3 and the third has just broken down on me again! I can't dispute the performance, it does exactly that it says in the descriptions.
