  • Summary: Would have given it 5-stars except the "missing or defective cartridge" message that pops up every now and again on these printers. Power-cycling or a yank of the toner/drum will make it go away. Annoying.

very bad product

  • Summary: I got this printer 13 months ago and it always had problems with paper jams. Then about a month ago the fuser went bad after about 3000 prints, so I replaced the fuser and I got an error code 922. So after talking with dell they now said the control board is bad and since it is not under warranty there is nothing they can do. I think a printer should last longer than 3000 pages. I will not be purchasing any more Dell printers!

  • Summary: I bought this printer for the purpose of light to medium usage. I have printed over 1000 sheets and think the printer produced as expected. If you want a good printer for school and light office work then this would be a good choice. I am pleased with it and I have owned it for 2 years now.

Customer support was very responive and quick. but hardware is unreliable

  • Summary: At first cartridge toner produced vertical strips and was replaced. New one also produced fussy spots and after 100 printed pages show error message "Toner level less than 50%". Than Dell sent printer replacement. New printer couldn't read paper tray and don't print at all and was replaced. So far didn't test a new printer and afraid it will be the same story.
