Summary: I chose this printer over some others because alternative toner is available at a substantial discount compared to Dell brand toner. It prints pretty well. Every printer seems to have a disadvantage. For this one, it's the single sheet paper feed. Cover stock doesn't work in the main tray, so if you intend to print on anything besides paper, be ready to stand there and feed it. You also have to be careful to feed the paper straight. The guides are inadequate.
Summary: The printing quality of the printer is very good. However, it is loud, has an annoying beep, constantly needs resetting for different paper sizes, types. The ink level monitor is WAY off, saying you have more toner left than you actually do. The paper tray is flimsy and the paper curls big time when it is printed.
Summary: I've bought one of these via Amazon but I must state not from this company. However, I'd like to say that I had problems uploading the software from the disc and had to do it via the Dell website. While on the Dell website I had to enter the printer's serial number. It was at that stage that I found out that the company I'd bought it from had bought it from Dell six months previously, meaning that there was only six months warranty left on it as Dell's warranties run...
Summary: This is a very difficult printer to install. I could not get it to work - and after 2 hours, the Dell technician decided it was faulty. I could not get the replacement to work either - but after 90 minutes of controlling my computer from Bangalore the Dell technician got it to work. It now does what it says on the tin. It works from all rooms in my house, wirelessly, from both my laptops.
