Dell 1130n

30 November 2010
  • Summary: Although it performed adequately in our print speed tests, this basic monochrome laser printer is outgunned by competitive devices with wireless networking for the same price.
  • Pros: The Dell 1130n's low-profile design, basic setup procedure, and decent output results make it a strong contender to be your next light-duty office printer.
  • Cons: The 1130n's graphical output quality needs improvement, and it doesn't include Wi-Fi connectivity.

  • Conclusion: The Dell 1130n Laser Printer is small enough to share a desk with as a personal printer, but includes an Ethernet connector for easy sharing in a micro-office.
  • Pros: Small enough for a personal printer. Ethernet connector for sharing on a network
  • Cons: Although good enough for most business purposes, output quality is a touch below par across the board.

Dell 1130n Laser Printer review

10 May 2010
  • Excerpt: Dell's smart-looking mono laser is actually a rebadged Samsung ML-2580n with customised firmware. We've been impressed by Samsung's recent mono lasers, so Dell has picked a good starting point with the 1130n. The little printer itself is simple, with a 250 sheet paper tray and a sheet feeder for envelope printing. It has both network and USB ports, comes with a 700 page starter cartridge and has a maximum duty cycle of 12,000 pages.
