Summary: Well I have to say that I am very impress with the quality of the pictures. I personally think that the photos are great & maybe even better than any other place that develops photos. It is very easy to install to your computer. The con is that it doesn't come in with the USB cable for your PC; you need to buy that separate.
Summary: I bought this printer for my wife last X-mas, as an alternative to the more time consuming "save pictures to disk / drive to a store / find a machine that works / drive back home / realize you forgot to print a picture" sequence that we had adopted until then each time we wanted to send a few photos. My main concern was the quality of the prints, but so far (>100 photos) it has exceeded my expectations! I even find the quality better than with most stores.
Wonderful line of printers... no longer waiting for driver for Mac OS X Lion

Summary: A great many of the reviews here are misleading. Also, people seem reluctant to call Canon tech support, which provides information readily. There are drivers available, easily, on the Canon USA site, for Max OS X through 10.6.x (known as Snow Leopard). What I was told was that "engineering" is still working on a driver for the Selphy CP800 under Mac OS X 10.7.x (aka Lion). Tech support cannot tell us when it will be done.
Summary: I received this printer as a x-mas gift and i have to say i am very impressed with the quality pictures it makes. I like the option of printing 1-2-4-8 pics on one sheet of photo paper the 2 or 4 are perfect size pics for scrap-booking, I have yet to try the collage print option. The only reason i did not give it a 5 star is that its not compatible with ipad /iphone. another let down is that i cannot print pictures that i download to my computer..
Summary: My Canon Selphy CP510 died and I needed a replacement. I purchased a Canon Selphy CP800 to print out pictures of friends to include in their Christmas cards. It worked perfectly and the prints are clear. I would highly recommend this printer for anyone who just wants to print only photos. I was disappointed, however, when it didn't come with the cable to connect it to my computer. Fortunately, I had the cable from my other printer and transferred it.
Nice printer, excellent quality, onboard picture editing needs work
12 December 2011
Summary: The quality of this printer is outstanding. I tried several of the new wireless photo inkjet printer (HP, Epson), and none of them came close to the quality that this printer can produce. The clarity was much higher with the Canon. I much prefer the dry ink process to the ink jets that can clog over time. Con - The onboard software for picture printing leaves much to be desired.
Summary: Update: Holding the on button turns the unit off :-) This is pretty awesome and much smaller than I though which makes it more than ideal. About the size of my wingspan with my hand. I just got the printer today so I've only been printing for a little while but the quality is good. Easy setup too, plug it in (I don't have a battery yet), slip in a sim card from your camera, its the way I do it, and hit print. The print cartridge slides in easy as well as the print tray.
Conclusion: compact, cute, clever, and perfect for small photos, especially for mini albums, card inserts, and wallets. it's portable and easy to use, but refills for ink and paper are very pricey. i recommend it's use for tiny prints, but not for making regular size 4x6s as this will use too much ink and photo paper, and is not cost effective.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use, black & whites/ sepia too, makes it's own collages
Cons: High Ink Consumption, pricey ink refills, pricey paper refills
Summary: Love this product! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I had to go spend $15 more for a USB cord...really should come with that, since the connection was not one that matched any of the other USB cords that I have a ton of!
