Featuring improved image quality and faster print speeds than its predecessor, this cleverly designed SELPHY compact photo printer is ideal for the parent who wants to share images of their children with family and friends.

The Canon SELPHY CP780 compact photo printer features easy-to-use and portability, and is available in three different colours, in silver, blue or pink This compact photo printer features Portrait Image Optimize that enhances photo images, improved Face Detection technology that has brightness and colour cast correction so that skin tones and faces will be produced with natural and realistic colours as well as a revision on print speed that allows a 4 x 6-inch print to be printed in approximately 47 seconds. It also features easy-to-access card slots that allow users to plug in memory cards or print straight from the camera with a USB cord. The SELPHY CP780 compact photo printer comes equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD screen, for users to review images and navigate through menus from various angles, with buttons that have been arranged in an easy-to-understand layout for simplicity and seamless navigation through menus. It also comes with an optional battery pack to allow portability that provides hundreds of prints before needing to be recharged. This compact printer is also compatible with the optional Canon BU-30 Bluetooth Adaptor which allows images to be sent from Bluetooth enabled devices, such as cell phones, directly to the SELPHY model to be printed.

    This worked well in our tests, as did other enhancements like automatic red-eye removal. Colour proved quite punchy and vivid but the CP780 had a nasty habit of blowing highlights. Read more

    The one problem, and it is a big one, is that the prints are expensive. A basic refill pack of 24 photo cards and dye-sub roll cassette costs £15: that’s 62p per print, not including the £129 price of the printer. Yet there is no denying the appeal of personal photo card printers in the home, and the Selphy CP780 is a particularly good example.     Hi! If you are reading this review right now, you want to find a good picture developer for your own home or office. So, you must trust me to tell you how it is between the Canon Selphy and the Picturemate 240. The difference is like night and day. My Picturemate finally locked up after years and thousands of photo prints. The little screen told me to check my handbook...............That was impossible.     The included CD doesn't have Windows 7 drivers, and Canon's website is notoriously difficult to navigate. When I finally found the Windows 7 64-bit drivers, they installed and ran well. Remember that prints are reflective, so they will appear darker than the image on your monitor. Brighten your image a bit before printing, and you will be happy. The auto-brightness feature in Photoshop Elements 8 does this nicely. Read more
