Canon Pixma Pro9000 Inkjet Printer

TJ Lord, REVIEW STREAM
7 May 2014
  • Excerpt: We wanted to use this printer to print large, high quality photos; we take a ton of baby pictures of our one year old, and we like to print the best pictures out to frame for family members. Though the Pixma Pro9000 was a high priced choice, I gave it a fair shake. Unfortunately, my husband and I were rather disappointed. For one thing, we live in a small apartment and have only limited space for our computer and accessories.

Worst Canon Printer Ever!

Jeepssmith, Canon
25 April 2013
  • Conclusion: Canon 9000 Mark II is horrible. Print quality is the worst of any Canon printer I have owned. It prints with blotches and bands. I have cleaned the head and cleaned the head and cleaned the head. Still prints with blotches and bands. Would not recommend this printer. Other Canon printers that cost way less give better quality.
  • Cons: Slow Print Speed, Low Quality Output, unreliable

Be prepared to spend major money on ink

Jessie, Canon
23 November 2012
  • Conclusion: This printer is a money pit. It seems like I replace ink cartridges as often as I use the printer. Also, the ink cartridges that it says need to be replaced look half full when I take them out. Furthermore, you cannot print anything, even in grayscale, when one color runs out. I am extremely disappointed with this purchase, and surprised more people have not mentioned the exorbitant cost of ink.
  • Pros: easy to use
  • Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, Low Quality Output, unreliable, ink! ink! ink!

"Only lasted for two years."

decor54, CNET
14 November 2012
  • Pros: Printed good quality photos.
  • Cons: I didn't use my printer excessively and was changing ink cartridges quite frequently. The cartirdges were expensive for the amount you got and how long they would last.

"Don't expect a rebate from Canon."

FireTaz2245, CNET
19 October 2011
  • Pros: Decent print and speed, but no worth the money
  • Cons: Offer a $200 rebate, but will do everything they can to deny it. I have had to send in additional items twice, and now they are denying it because all the cardboard was not behind the UPC sticker. Without the rebate this printer is way overpriced for qu

"Unreliable, expensive cost per print."

roastbeef82, CNET
7 August 2011
  • Pros: I cannot fault the quality of the colour prints - but that comes at a price.
  • Cons: Uses too much ink just cleaning itself, and there is no way around this. Every time you switch it on it cleans all the colour cartridges which consumes loads of expensive ink ! Even if you leave it switched on it then starts cleaning before printing a bla

So So

Pappyz, Canon
14 May 2011
  • Conclusion: Beautiful pictures, when it works I have been trying to print 4 X 6 prints for a week now. Used multiple graphics programs, searched through all options and Help files, this is the most frustrating printer I ever owned. Hooked up to 2 different computers..same result 4 X 6s come out at about 2 X 2.5 no matter what you set for paper or print size Have printed many 8.5 X 11s and they are perfect.
  • Pros: Easy Setup, High Quality Output
  • Cons: Difficult to use

Uses ink unnecessarily

Joe Consumer, Canon
22 June 2010
  • Conclusion: I have 3 printers. The output on color is the best of the three. However the excessive re-calibration of the printer causes excessive use of ink. I am happy with the finished product, but the ink usage is way out of line. On average it consumes twice as much ink (if not more) as my other machines. This could be due to the ink formula.
  • Pros: durable, Good Media Handling, High Quality Output
  • Cons: High Running Cost
