Highly Disappointed

Adorama

  • Excerpt: I have many Canon products: 5D camera, Image Class 8580 color laser, MX860 multi purpose printer, etc. Maybe I have a lemon? My Pro 10 prints everything very dark - about 1.5 stops. Rediculous that I should have to make numerous adjustments to brightness and contrast to "good - properly exposed photos" just to get out one decent print, that Costco can do correctly the first time for $1.67. My four ink Canon MX860 does a much better job and its not a photo printer.
  • Pros: Printer Looks Nice
  • Cons: Excessivly Saturated, Under Exposed Prints

Don't Plan on using

Adorama

  • Excerpt: I have used and loved Canon products for decades. Just purchased the Pro-10 printer. Very unhappy. The prints come out very dark - about 1.5 stops underexposed. My older and cheaper 4 and 6 ink Canon printers print much better than this. I shouldn't have to overly brighten good photos just to try and get an acceptable print out of this printer. Prints are unacceptable.

Worst Purchase Ever

Barnaby, Canon
9 May 2014
  • Conclusion: I have tried to use this printer with an iMac over wireless. A single A4 print takes around half an hour. And that's when it works. Numerous times it just stops half way through the print and spits out a half printed page. When it does manage to print a full page there are nasty black lines across the page. Will be sending this back. I'm guessing I've either got a dud one or there is a problem with using this printer with a Mac.
  • Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, Difficult Setup, Low Quality Output, unreliable

Print quality might be great but the wireless set-up part for Mac is a disaster.

  • Summary: [Note: this review is not for the printing quality, but only for the initial setup process.] My wife brought this model from Amazon after reading great reviews and of course, I'm the one who has to do the initial set-up. Open the box, connect it to power and downloaded latest drivers from Cannon. I wanted to set it up as a wireless printer so that it can be printed from our Macbook air.

ONE OF THE WORST PRINTERS ON THE MARKET

a list party girl "courtney", Amazon

  • Summary: Canon needs to seriously rethink it printer product line. This printer is not even compatible with Mountain Lion (why is Pixma Pro 1 compatible and Pro 10 not?) -- check out the canon website if you doubt this. The setup process is incredibly un user friend. In fact, the printer is ANTI USER FRIENDLY. Maybe Canon should stick to cameras and lenses. We had to return it.

Poor printer

MR NE TREADWELL, Amazon

  • Summary: I purchased this product. It worked briefly with Lightroom 5 although I had to log out of Lightroom after each print before it worked again. Eventually it refused to work with the software and a Japanese error message appeared. I don't know how long this printer had been sitting in the warehouse, but clearly it was not set up to work with Canon plug-in.
