Excerpt: The shiny, black Canon Pixma MG8120 color inkjet multifunction printer (which performs printing, copying, and scanning), is nothing if not cool-looking—the control panel integrated into the top lid is a must-see. But it also produces smooth text output at decent speeds, and its replacement ink costs are reasonable. Alas, up-front cost of the eye candy is far from negligible: The MG8120 retails for a whopping $300.
Conclusion: The Canon Pixma MG8120 Photo All-in-One is a quality printer chock full of useful features while still managing to print great looking black and white text documents and color photos quickly. And with the new Intelligent Touch System, the Pixma MG8120 has style while helping users navigate menus easily. Canon might not be the first manufacturer to the market with this technology but they did a really good job using it effectively on the MG8120.
Pros: Intelligent Touch System, Quality prints, 2-way paper feeding
Review of Canon PIXMA MG8120 Photo All-in-One Inkjet Printer
1 September 2010
Conclusion: So that’s the new Canon Pixma MG8120 and there’s really not much difference between it and the MG6120 overall, both printers have superb print quality, which is really what counts right? The larger screen really isn’t that much bigger, 1/2 inch basically, not a deal breaker or worth the extra cash in my opinion. The ability to scan and print from negatives is something that you’ll actually use to make this printer worth the extra cost over the MG6120.
Pros: Nice large LCD screen, Nice looking printer overall, Fast and quiet, Can scan negatives, Excellent photo and print quality, Print from your phone wirelessly, Lots of options, Easy setup and use
Cons: Glossy black finish picks up dust and fingerprints, No fax, Installs a lot of software
