Summary: Can someone please make an inkjet that works!? Had this less then 2 years, used up ink like crazy yet we barely printed anything. suddenly B200 error with no explanation. Never again Canon, never again.
Excerpt: If you can get around this safety measure, and try to print black and white only (which I would think you should be able to do even while missing color cartridges), you risk damaging the printer head. I still do it, and have done it for a year now, and the printer still works fine, but keep that warning in mind. It’s a pain. However, over all, this has been a great investment. Certainly worth the money.
Summary: I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids with special needs, and I go to college. I've had this printer for 2 years, and it's had light to moderate use. While it's worked, it's been great. It scans nicely, is pretty easy to use, and I've had no problems scanning to USB drives or cards. It does go through quite a bit of ink so if you are worried about that, try to set your printer to grayscale only and then the lightest printing option.
Summary: The printer is completely digital and very, very slow. Could not scan into the PC and could not do 'draft' printing to save ink. The ink cartridges are very small, fraction of an oz and get used up fast. By letting Canon have access to printer they learned enough to set the machine so it would no longer recognize a competitor's ink cartridge which worked fine and was considerably less costly-- Global Sophia which is a duplicate of Canon's cartridge except for the digital...

Summary: 1 star for working for 1 year and 1 star for fast customer service reply to email inquiry. -1 star for printer malfunctioning after just over 1 year of light use, -1 star for how the printer goes through ink like water, and -1 star for having so many struggles with getting the wireless feature to work consistently. The printer was purchased in May 2011 and is now junk in Sept 2012 and since it's been over 1 year they will not pay for the repair. Avoid !
Summary: The BIGGEST ISSUE is that if just one of the color cartridges runs out you CANNOT print PERIOD! Also, it has 2 black cartidges and will not print gray-scale OR plain black text if one is out and the other is full. Other than that, the printer has nice features, BUT goes through ink like there's no tomorrow and Canon decided that it's better to slam you for $55 in ink as much as possible.
Summary: I was at first stoked with the look and feel of this printer. The scanner works ok, and the print quality is good. I was actually really happy with this printer until the ink ran out after a few months, I bought manufactures refill cartridges which were over priced but ran out quickly. I then bought non-original cartridges which were ok until their ink quickly ran out.
Summary: I'm not going to list the pros. The cons far outway needing to mention pros. Before I begin, let me emphasize that the printer is marketed as a "wireless printer". Cons: - No option to print straight from black ink; no checkbox anywhere in any printer settings. Even with latest drivers. Even setting print job to grayscale. Even when printing black text. It *will* use the color cartridges to print black text. This takes the "printer" out of "wireless printer".
Summary: I though it can be faster than that but I was definitively wrong!! Ok all in one good point but not if it takes me almost 20sec to print a sheet!! At least it's a good quality printer. You can have better for the same price I think...
Summary: Total ink hog and won't function at all if even one of the ink cartridges is empty. Cyan is empty now (who the f%#@ needs cyan to print B&W anyways???) and I can't even scan a document. Inks are exorbitantly expensive. I agree with the reviewer who said it costs nearly $2 per page to operate this piece of crap. That's about what it cost me given the rate at which the freakin' cyan cartridge went out.
