Summary: I don't know why this printer gets so many bad reviews. I've had mine for about 18 months now. It works great; I've had no problems at all. I use it mostly as a regular business printer on 8.5x11" plain paper. It's FAST as an ordinary text printer (slower on photos, but still OK), reasonably quiet, and much more efficient with ink than I expected. Before this I was using Canon MP830 all-in-one printers (which were pretty good too, but they don't sell them anymore).
Summary: A couple of years ago I stepped into the world of large format printers using a HP Design Jet at work. I had to had to learn a lot about different papers, paper sizes, paper weights, paper finishes, paper suppliers, issues with inks, issues with the printer, and printer driver and application interactions. Using any large format printer (which is any size bigger than legal) requires a substantial invest of time and study to produce any results.
Summary: I don't understand why there are so many less than ideal reviews for this printer. Unless it's because the owners didn't use it long enough to get rid of the habits they developed from their old printers. This printer far surpassed my expectations of it, after having been a career long user of HP large format printers.
Summary: I was looking for a replacement printer and wanted one that would do duplex printing on various paper sizes up to A3 as well as print on envelopes and labels. After considering the various options I chose the Canon PIXMA iX7000 as I believed it to be an A3 version of a general purpose office printer. I was not disappointed. My product was supplied through the Amazon marketplace by Inkubus Bargains. It was delivered promptly.
Summary: I've had a HP CP1700 A3 printer for many years. Whilst the print quality was always very good it did have one very odd quirk. It unnecessarily offset the printing area to the right. I spoke to HP about it at the time and they blamed everything but the printer. I decided to stick with it but really wish I hadn't. The hassle in reverse printing a colour proof, for example, was a time consuming, gluey, unprofessional matter.
Summary: I was in my holiday apartment in the Canary Islands and needed a new A3 sized printer. I ordered this iX7000 from Amazon. As the Canaries are VAT free I had the tax refunded and the product arrived at 10 am on the morning Amazon said it would. Great service. The printer gives exceedingly good results, it prints without a border in A3 and makes your photos come to life. I wanted it to print my .jpgs from my Canon A500 (also from Amazon).
Summary: Unlike previous reviewers, I am impressed by this printer. It churns out double-sided prints, including A3 ones, in bulk without needing any attention. The print quality on plain paper is very good and sharp. It also prints good quality photographs, both on plain paper and on photo paper. It is much superior to my previous A3 Canon printer, which was an i9100. It was easy to install and set up. It is a large and heavy printer, so needs a solid surface to stand on.
