Summary: The "fail" list for this product is too long. I gave it a star because I had to, not because it deserved one. This is by far the most poorly built product that I have ever purchased. i have been a Canon (desktop) printer customer for as long as they have been making them and have been more than happy until I purchased this printer. Canon must be privately hanging their head in shame. For me, it will prevent me from purchasing a Canon in the future.
Summary: The only printer I could buy for my Mac at the local Apple store was a Canon, and it has given me problems ever since I replaced the first (which collapsed after three years of light usage). Plus, the cost of the color or black cartridge is obscene. I'm switching to another printer today.
Summary: We've owned the Canon iX7000 for almost a year--and it's dead. The printhead is fried and will not print anything. It has NEVER been an easy or intuitive product to use. We have used only Canon OEM inks--and no matter hwo careful one is, they spill, squirt or squish ink all over your hands and the inside the printer. I still have never found a way to load new inks without making at least some mess.
Summary: This printer spends more time cleaning itself and doing maintenance than printing. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PRINTER IF SPEED IS IMPORTANT! I sent a single page to this thing and it is now @ three minutes later and the dam printer is still performing some kind of internal maintenance or whatever process. I had an HP DeskJet 1220C, which was an awesome printer, but after about ten years it finally died. Read good reviews about this Canon, but don't believe them.
Summary: Prints nice, albeit slow... Paper loading an immediate problem, the try malfunctions and quit working after about 10 loads. Top loading does not work at all... because the machine will not work unless paper is manually fed or the cassette is loaded...
Summary: Don't expect Canon to honor warranty. My unit died after fewer than six months and 500 pages. Canon has no equivalent units for warranty exchange and the local Canon service center cannot get assistance from factory.
Summary: First let me enfaticly encourage you not to buy this printer. I have a small Architectural practice and use A3 printers to print plans/drawings. I had the Canon 9900 for years and it worked great. I saw this printer and thought I would give it a try since it was geared towards business use and my last printer died during a brown out. The printer was far from perfect. The printing speed is slow the printer is loud. But the worst part of this printer is the paper handling.
Summary: Der Drucker hat einfach nicht funktioniert.
